You’d think that it’d be great motivation for writing a fanfic on it, but the reason I despise it - the idea that Melody will never truly find a group where she fits in because she will always be judged by her medical condition - is also so central to the themes of the book that it’s hard to consider where to even begin with something like that.
Like, changing the ending would mean making it less cynical, but the sheer cruelty is what makes it as powerful as it is. Melody chooses to stop letting herself be defined by what other people think, to stop letting herself get hurt by people who don’t care about her, but it leaves no one her age in her corner.

MU has a type of game called sit ‘n go which you’re supposed to log on for a bit every day and then leave, with like 12/12 or 6/18 phases iirc (or otherwise oddly specific timings every day)

I’m also tempted to do smth very mechanically complex such as virtuous or wandering souls but the nights might be a bit too long (for review n shit)

Part of me wants to propose this as a Danganronpa-esque thing where you try and piece together who killed who, and correctly determining it gets that player killed as well, but that requires brainpower, and I’m too tired to figure that out now.
