I think “generative AI isn’t actually good at summarising” is like a point you cna make, IDK, I haven’t tried it. I just think that citing “this professor thinks generative AI should never be used in education” is an ineffective and it-is-a-brick way to make that argument

I used it as faster google. Its good enough at Math, for me. And for writing words in english. Checking for grammar errors, spellings. Giving prompts. It does a decent bit of raw work, and then I refine it

I had to learn how to use Microsoft BI and i didnt even know where to start. Like where to download it, which buttons did what. I could watch a tutorial but I just asked “how do I use microsoft BI” and it talked to me like a human, like a 5 year old, it held my hand. Used it to ask questions for a lot of software

one of my classes has a guest lecturer like once a week, and like everytime they’ll be advertising chatgpt and heres ai stuff u can do and blah blah blah. once had a thing where the guy spent like 30 minutes going over different ai stuff from art, music, writing, etc and then was like “ok students now you do it!”
and like. No. It is bad. I do not want to engage.

I get being upset at companies using AI to do stupid and evil stuff.
I’m just saying that AI is a tool, and a company using said tool to do stupid and evil stuff doesn’t mean that tool is inherently stupid and evil.
