Ah. You read that and got irrationally mad.
Well you see, I didn’t read tutuu’s posts as “just play mafia”; I read it as a formal request to tone down the intensity of mech so we won’t forget to actually read people. Jarek made fun of this in P#292, but I actually don’t want us to spend too long on mech either. More specifically, I don’t want EOD1 to end in late-stage RVS.

I guess “if they even do” should have more emphasis than it has been given, because I do think there’s a solid chance that they don’t have access to them as much as other Index do.

they hopped in when we were discussing the mech on the books and basically said we shouldn’t discuss it and focus on other things, of course they added that line at the end, but as a whole the post means nothing about the intention of it even with that at the end

I think focusing on social reads and playing mafia will increase town’s chances to win. That isn’t to say that you should disregard the mech, especially since this is a mech-heavy game, but if the focus is more on reads and less on unknown mechanics town will have a higher expected winrate, from experience.

Because you use <font> instead of [font] , all BBcode directly beneath the first line (i.e., the automated line) gets written literally if you don’t use <div> . (E.g., this becomes this.)

There was some issue with the bbcode tags that made me use html instead. think it might’ve been fallback related? the div mess (that acts as a quick botch for the weirdness with bbcode) only causes issue on one of my browsers too. its a whole hassle getting discourse to behave with font formatting I have no idea how neil puts up with it

Has he actively tried to dissuade everyone from talking mech?

I have seen tutuu post his reads-list and actively engage with other players.

For clarity’s sake: We are going to forget this. There are ways to solidify this in our head, but they cannot be done during a game due to rules against contacting players about the game during it.

You should try to remember this, and bring it up to us once the game is concluded.

I don’t remember tutuu’s meta, but from what I see in the current game, he seems to be very willing to focus on the social aspects of this game, rather than the mechanical aspects. I interpret P#235 as him giving everyone a nudge to play the game socially. He acknowledged that mech is still needed, but I think he simply wanted people to focus on reading players.
