Please watch the show if you would not like to be spoiled! It is only twelve episodes and I highly recommend it.
To save Mitakihara’s citizens, Magical Girls must dedicate their lives to doing battle with witches, evil beings which haunt humanity. The most wicked witch of them all, Walpurgisnacht, is arriving soon. If it isn’t stopped, the whole city will be destroyed. Magical Girls and civilians alike have to join forces to ensure Mitakihara’s safety!
✩ Game Information
This is a closed-setup role-madness bastard mafia game for ten players! 48 hour days, 24 hour nights, and roles and alignments are not revealed upon death.
Follow the Forum Game Rules: don’t directly quote any private communications which occurred outside the public game thread, especially with the host, and please don’t try to game my rolecards’ exact appearance or text!
If you’re alive, post in the thread about the game at least ten times per day. If you’re not… well, keep in mind that this is a bastard game with heavy dead interaction. You should expect to be playing this game for most of its run, even if you die.
I will never lie to you directly, but stay alert. Text shown in italics is considered an observation, and you can’t trust your senses under the interference of magic and Witches. Don’t worry: player win conditions in rolecards are reported truly and will remain the same under all circumstances, no matter what happens. Some roles may require subjective host judgment to function, but I promise I’ll do my best to be fair, even if it’s against my favor!
A contract with me is a serious thing! Please only make one if you’re truly prepared for what it involves.
✬ Day Phases
During the day, living Magical Girls and civilians will have a friendly discussion about who they can trust. The player with the most votes at the end of the day will be executed. You can vote for yourself, but I don’t recommend it, and no execution isn’t an option. If you tie the votes, I’ll pick the execution randomly for you!
At any point, if over half of the available votes are cast for the same person, the day will end immediately and the night will start. Votes are never locked, but if the mafia could hammer to immediately win the game, they’ll automatically be considered to do so. Be careful!
✫ Night Phases
During the night, everybody gets to use their powers, either as a Magical Girl or a civilian, to fight witches! I don’t advise telling others about your abilities recklessly, though, because they can use that information against you.
Make sure to submit your actions at least two hours before the night ends — you can even pre-submit your night actions during the day, if you’d like.
If everybody submits and locks their actions early, the night ends immediately and the next day begins, so please submit your actions as soon as you’re able, and don’t stall things out on purpose!
★ The Mafia
Certain Magical Girls may turn their backs on the universe and become our enemies. Watch out: they’ll do anything to achieve their goals. Every night, alongside their ordinary magical girl actions, one of them may attack another living player. They have the ability to communicate psychically with each other on Discord.
Don’t expect to be able to identify them solely by their faces or magical powers, as they’ll be able to claim the powers of civilians or innocent magical girls. You’re going to have to watch your peers closely!
I’m tasking you with ensuring the mafia’s defeat before Walpurgisnacht arrives. If you do, the universe will be saved from a certain death! It’s a great responsibility, but I know I can trust you to treat it accordingly. Remember, this is a bastard game which will not have the same expectations as your ordinary life up to this point, though it will still be a mafia game at its heart.
