Rules

  • Global Site Rules
  • Do not post in languages other than English, edit/delete posts, like posts while dead/during night, utilize shared/hydra accounts, utilize multiple accounts, use polling/wiki features, attempt to mimic host messages, post fake quotes of other players, or spam/slank excessively.
  • Do not cheat. Announcing intention to cheat, yet not acting upon it, will still confer punishment.
    • Do not gamethrow or sabotage games. You are permitted to play terribly, but doing so with the intention to troll will confer punishment.
    • Do not discuss host decisions or replacements in the game thread, especially to gain an in-game advantage.
    • Do not employ out of game information in order to get an in-game advantage. This rule will be enforced loosely with the exception of alignment indicative information, which should instead be made known to the host and will be handled appropriately.
      Try not to enable other players to do this either. You can help by not talking about the game outside the game thread.
    • Do not attempt to weaponize the host.
    • Do not announce intent to replace out, or make posts that could easily be interpreted in that manner.
    • Do not strategically replace out.
    • Do not attempt to abuse loopholes in the rules in order to accomplish any of the above. If you are not sure if something is legal or not, communicate such to the host in your PM.

Gameplay

  • The uninformed majority is the Town. The informed minority is the Mafia. There may or may not be third parties.
  • There will potentially be spoilers for all Project Moon media in this game, including Lobotomy Corporation, Library of Ruina, Limbus Company, and more. Read at your own risk.
Example Rolecards (none of these will appear in the game)

Town Vanilla

You have no weapons but your voice and your vote.

You win when all Mafia members are dead and at least 1 Town member remains alive.

Mafia Goon

You have no weapons but your voice, your vote, and the factional kill.

You win when the Mafia has parity with the Town.

  • Days are 48 hours long (unless ended early by majority), nights are 24.
  • The Mafia will communicate through a special discord server or forum PM.
  • Factional actions may be performed alongside other actions.
  • Executions are majority and plurality. Ties result in a random execution among the tied players.
  • The following will be decided when the setup is actually designed:
    • When is action deadline?
    • Are voted locked in XyLo?
    • Is no-execution a valid vote?

UPick Mechanics

  • When signing up, please submit up to three Project Moon characters. This includes any character from Lobotomy Corporation, Library of Ruina, The Distortion Detective, or Limbus Company. Please do not submit characters that appear exclusively in Wonder Lab or Leviathan.
    • If you so desire, you may specify an Identity for your character to take on, even if they aren’t a Sinner. We reserve the right to reject non-canon Identities.
    • Please do not submit Horse Vergilius
  • The setup has not yet been designed. Upon filling, it will take some time to design the setup. Every player will receive a character according to their choices, prioritizing the first listed.
  • There may be duplicate characters. In this case, I will use the mtg doctrine; that is, I will add some kind of descriptor to the end of the name and call it different. They will probably be different mechanically.
  • Your alignment will be completely random, but will be decided before designing your role.
    • Potential Neutral roles may be designed based on a specific player’s submitted character, but we will never factor in the player who submitted it. (Town and Mafia roles will be completely random as usual; basically, if we have a really good idea for a neutral for a specific character, we can do it without having to hope it rands to that character)

So, you don’t know the lore of The City, the shared setting for all of the games by Korean independent game developer Project Moon?

That’s fine! We want to make this game as accessible as possible, even to those who haven’t played a series of… to put it mildly, eccentrically programmed video games, one of which is a gacha game. To help you out, here are short character biographies for the thirteen main characters, the Sinners of Limbus Company. Feel free to submit the ones who catch your eye!

A Handy Dandy Primer of Thirteen Characters You Could Hypothetically Submit In This Game

#1 - Yi Sang - Depressed poet and scientist who speaks in riddles. A charmingly sad and wet mess of a man. Makes puns upon his own name that don’t fully make sense in English. Wields a dagger held in a notebook named 하융 (Ha Yung)

Utter to me what you think the ideal is.

#2 - Fuast - Dispassionate and egotistical genius. She has a habit of speaking of herself in third person, and seems to know things that she absolutely shouldn’t. You aren’t cleared to know what she knows, how she knows it, or anything like that. Wields a two-handed sword named WALPURGISNACHT. (St. Walpurgis’s Night)

Faust knows all outcomes.

#3 - Don Quixote - A brave Fixer, a lady knight who shalt gallop towards her dreams atop Rocinante, her brave steed! (A pair of worn-out leather shoes.) Speaks in Shakespearean English. She’s far too excitable and impulsive for anyone’s good. Well-meaning, at least. Wields a lance that’s twice her height, named SUEÑO IMPOSIBLE. (Impossible Dream)

Gallop on, Rocinante! Justice will prevail!!

#4 - Ryoshu - A chainsmoking artist. Her medium of choice is simple: unfathomably brutal violence. Most of her speech is littered with obscure acronyms and idioms she made up on the spot. Wields a sword that she never unsheathes. She’s sharpened the sheath such that it can serve as a weapon anyway.

As for the sword’s name, it’s called 無我夢中 阿鼻叫喚 支離滅裂, which is obscure and difficult to understand even in the original Japanese. Your guess is as good as mine.

#5 - Meursault - Follows commands with little complaint or judgement on his part. Something is deeply wrong with him. Wields a pair of metal gauntlets named SOLEIL (Sun)

The multitude tightens its hold.

#6 - Hong Lu - A kind-hearted and mellow man who faces every part of life with a smile on his face, whether or not it’s appropriate to do so. Was raised in an impossibly rich household, and sometimes makes insensitive comments as a result. Wields a large glaive named 太虛幻境 (Illusionary Land of the Great Void)

#7 - Heathcliff - Brash, ill-educated, and hot-headed. He’s argumentative, and speaks in a mix of a Cockney and Yorkshire accent. His body is covered in scars from his past as a gangster. Wields a baseball bat named “REVENGE”.

You’ll… get shoved in this bag, too!

#8 - Ishmael - Well-educated and well-mannered, but openly vindictive and cynical. Compared to the others, though, she’s an oasis of sanity. Ishmael is a sailor, whose eyes are fixed with a certain obsession. She wields a club, a harpoon, and a shield named “HEARSE”. She doesn’t use the harpoon much, though. She’s saving it.

That bastard has to be alive still.

#9 - Rodion - Overtly hedonistic and sociable, but her eyes aren’t smiling when she is. Loves to drink, and eat, and take drugs, and gamble. Sometimes, the mask slips, and she just starts staring out of the window for no reason. Don’t worry about it. Wields a hatchet named РАСКО́Л (Division)

#10 - Dante - The Executive Manager of the Limbus Company Bus department, an amnesiac whose head was replaced with a clock. Nobody can undestand a word they say other than their coworkers. They’re capable of reviving all the other Sinners, at the cost of experiencing in excruciating detail the pain of each of their deaths. As such, they have a vested interest in the others’ wellbeing.

Abandon hope, all ye who enters here.

#11 - Sinclair - A young adult who absolutely should not be a mercenary. Nervous, seemingly innocent, and stuttering, he seems to be just a boy out of his depth. And then you see his gaze in the heat of battle, and you understand why they hired him. Wields a polearm named VOGEL (Bird.)

If I can sever it with my own hands…

#12 - Outis - A middle-aged lady, a veteran of a war that occured 10 years ago who acts like she’s still in the army. Obsessively brownnoses to Dante, but cannot conceal her disdain for them, or for that matter, anyone around her. She is not trustworthy in the slightest. Wields a short sword named ΟΥΤΙΣ (Nobody / Outis)

The odyssey had a purpose.

#13 - Gregor - A rather nice, if somewhat traumatised man. Very easy to talk with. Barely ever smokes, but a cigarette is never far from his mouth anyway. Oh, and one of his arms is an unfathomably disgusting mass of insectile matter. Needless to say, this is his weapon, though not exactly his weapon of choice. It’s called UNGEZIEFER (Hideous Pest.)

Or, submit none of them! There’s plenty of great characters to choose from. Still, we hope this gives you a jumping up point to make your choice.
