THIRD TIME’S NOT THE CHARM!
By Ken Clement
Centralia, CSA – Reporters and fans flocked to a small landing bay in Centralia as the ship carrying the Third Expedition to Kronar landed. Led by popular SpaceToker Dr. Jean Blanchett (also known as @DrJ), the expedition had left with heads held high to explore the mysterious planet of Kronar. During their trip, rumors abounded discussing whether they would succeed where the Second Expedition, which had disappeared not two years prior, had failed.
And those rumors have been answered. The party members filed out of the ship, telling of a broken colony filled with horrifying creatures - Living Rocks! Hydra Devourers! Roaming Flowers! A Vending Machine!
But worst of all, they told the tragic tale of Dr. Blanchett. A man who built a machine to protect them from the dangerous monsters, but in doing so created the worst monster of all. A machine that turned on him and the crew, killing him and his trusty bodyguard, Arius Hayden.
Director Rali of CSA Expeditions expressed her deep sorrow at the loss. “He was such a light,” she said in an interview. “The galaxy will miss him greatly.”
And now, the question remains for the survivors: where will they go next?
Did You Know? Jean’s doctorate is in computer studies.

yippeeee
I would list Kuri as true neut
the saving of the party and jean etc. was entirely self-motivated
but it doesnt take any pleasure from hurting others or self indulgence, and its goals are neutral if not slightly good (pursuit of knowledge). Although Kuri would have tried to leave if it didnt think Aisha would flip out. And would have joined Jean if Jean gave it the chance
I headcanon Kuri as not saving or even killing useless party members or other detractors, but that wasn’t applicable here
^true neut above
(plus amber could like totally kill Kuri 1-shot if she wanted)
almost everyone who had combat applications could one shot the others
arius one shot huxley and you saw what Huxley did to arius whilst she rolled a nat 20
amber can’t do any damage!
you’re probably the worst matchup because your different eyes could see through her illusions
excuse me! have you seen my accuracy stat!
I assumed she could in some way short-circuit my vital functions
Theodor definitely could
Amber’s much more skilled at creating illusions but has a pretty weak grasp of messing with technology
given enough prep time she totally could, but that’s kind of unfair
yeah a hundred or so years isn’t enough give her 200
…also what was the MK.1
you have the lowest intelligence in the game, no offense
you would definitely notice that each of the clones is different but you likely wouldn’t be able to figure out which one is the real one
the Mk 1. Simulacrum is the hologram drone that Amber is currently possessing
the Mk 2. Simulacrum is the killer robot that’s been chasing you around (which Jean is currently possessing)
the Mk 1 was really just a proof of concept, while the Mk 2 was intended for military use in the war
The Fate of Father Pius, born as Sisto.
After the expedition concluded Father Pius vanished from CSA space, taking church vessels all the way to RoP space. After informing the authorities on New Vatican of the truth of the events on Kronar, the system was scrubbed deliberately from all Church maps.
He would then resurface 15 years later with his appointment as the Archbishop of Cas. A staunch advocate against the expansion of the rights of sentient machines he was soon appointed as a member of the College of Cardinals.
He would emerge as a front runner for the papacy after the death of Pope Benedict XXIX, but would ultimately not be elected. Something he was very privately grateful for.
His most significant role in the history of the Church was being the host of The Ecumenical Council of Cas, the council that would eventually acknowledge that sentient robots could become members of the Church. Needless to say Pius was less than pleased and held out for as long as he possibly could against the rising tide but finally relented.
Afterwards he would resign as Archbishop of Cas and as a member of the College of Cardinals given his advanced age, returning to the Orphanage he grew up at to serve as the director and priest. Living peacefully until his death at age 97.
His funeral was held at New Vatican and attended by most high ranking members of the Church including His Holiness Pope Francis II. It is unclear if any members of the 3rd Expedition to Kronar attended his funeral or watched the broadcast that the Church provided.
He is buried on a hill near the St. Francis Orphanage where he grew up
