[RP] End of the Line - TERMINUS

Corporate Espionage is so relaxing, isn’t it?

@ImaginaryNeon has entered Poland

Complication: Files. You have a big wad of files you need to keep on your person at all times.

Escape Method: Spent most of the game on the ‘down low’, and merely walked away from the detectives or otherwise didn’t interact with them in a way that would arose even the mildest of suspicion. Then, he just… walked off the train.

(What an odd game. A lot of it didn’t work. Lets catalogue it now.)

(The room idea, in a game like this, doesn’t work. You need to have a passive push for people to group together (like in a freeform game), and this just… doesn’t have it. It just made interactions way harder, since you have to find someone online the same time as you via guessing. There’s no schedules or something you can really do in your free time without other people.)

(The general structure of this game also didn’t work. I really think I should’ve went with my original idea of having a player detective, but I wrote it off because I didn’t want to single anyone out. I don’t really know how this would work in a game with motives and one room, but…)

It was definitely an experience; sorry for being kind of a jackass to the first detective. I was a little bit dense and missed a couple of details I probably should’ve been paying more attention to/memorizing. And I got really lucky for soweli being online at the same time i was trying to leave my room while talking to the detective. I really did appreciate the flavor though and the npc interactions that was pretty fun! i do wish i got some kind of spark to talk with others since i felt like half the time it was like “…soooooooooooooooo hello?” i think also trying to figure out what my complication was was also a nice element i think and i’m glad it wasn’t ghost with a giant neon sign

(Playercount was pretty small, so it’s not very good when I have nothing to lead people with. The Detective acted more as something you want to avoid versus go to, anyway.)

(A lot of the motives were subpar. Most were ‘hide an object’ since that’s what I got from the player’s backstories, but I should’ve just gave that to Ishmael and gave everyone else something else. Mistyx’s required too much work from me, and Neon’s is the most egregious example of ‘not really having to do anything’. I think Ishmael’s was the only one I was satisfied with, and that’s not a super unique one either.)

fun fact! every single thing that Emil was playing with was not his

those weren’t even his clothes

I liked my complication, but it was pretty hampered by the fact that I felt bad about stealing from AFK people, and I didn’t really have a good way to tell when someone was online

I also couldn’t steal from everybody, since some people just like didn’t have things I could take

example:

^me looking at Flavia’s bag to see if I can yoink anything later

still had fun in the interactions I did have, but I think a challenge was that pretty much everyone wanted to avoid attention, and I didn’t have a great in character motive to talk to people, which made it harder motivation-wise out of character

(People also didn’t build pushy characters (to have a reason to interact), which made sense since… everyone was a criminal. But it’s probably something I couldn’t control besides advising it a bit more.)

(That’s all. Ultimately, this was an experiment to see what about this format works and what doesn’t. Although I probably won’t return to this type of game again, it was a decent learning experience.)

Yes.

(Most people made their characters last minute; don’t worry, this was a 2 week game. Nothing major or gamechanging was gonna happen here.)

so no one noticed the age inconsistency (which was why i had to decide the wedding was a fake excuse to get to Poland)

the alcohol was originally going to be used for gifting then I remembered the age inconsistency so then i thought about arson to escape the train but that didn’t go great cuz i left it in my room and didn’t bring it with me to Ionescu’s

I wasn’t super happy with Emil’s personality - he kinda waffled between street-smart punk and sophisticated thief, neither of which really stuck

the complication was cool but I think I probably would need to be more proactive with the NPCs and/or other players for it to be engaging

had fun talking with ppl tho

(My favourite is probably Ionescu? She has an actual personality that was fleshed out. The first detective would be my personal favourite if ISHMAEL didn’t get to him within the first five days because she SUCKS)

((ok so i do admit it ionescu did grow on me a lot over time i was fully ready to kind of blackmail her on the first meeting through))

Ishmael killing the first detective was hilarious I think that may have been my favorite part of the game
