Oracle is the one of those that can pull off all the things you’re talking about

what about Witch?

I WILL boil you

Tragically the class I was eyeing was Mesmerist, but that’s not core/base/hybrid

What does the “trained only” part of certain skills refer to?

Also, does Eschew Materials and Spell Component Pouch provide the exact same effect?

tutuu - Fighter
Atlas - Sorceror
Squirrel - [Melee]
Ranta - Oracle/Witch/Rogue
Geyde - Cleric?
Amelia - ???
Zone - Magus/Shifter/Swashbuckler/Vigilante

Hm… I think my character is Chaotic Neutral, so unfortunately I can’t even go Monk or Cleric since I planned to have it follow Irori’s path of self-perfection. (Why Irori? Because suffering is required to perfect oneself.)

Magus: Perfectionist (Chaotic Neutral)
Shifter: Hedonist (Chaotic Neutral)
Swashbuckler: Altruist (True Neutral)
Vigilante: Survivalist (True Neutral)

((When I wrote the lines above, I had difficulty seeing the latter two as Chaotic Neutral, so I had to shift them into True Neutral.))

…ya, I’ll be real here. IDK how well I do with this “alignment” thingy. It really seldom gets used from what I have seen.

i’m mosttttlyyy waiting for info but i have a really solid idea in my mind, just if it works in the setting (which it would have to be particularly specific not to)

eh no harm in asking

@Arete would I be allowed to play a mesmerist or nah

it looks like this is nearly all correct, but a couple minor changes:

  • “Reactionary” and “Armor Expert” are both “Combat” traits – each trait has to be from a different “category” of traits
  • (the one you already noted about essentially putting in armor expert twice)

yep, totally fine!

looks correct to me (assuming that you’re using them one-handed) (since you have a shield)

yep, that’s correct

idk what’s up with that, usually changing the toggle flips it from active or inactive to the opposite, possibly changing it manually broke the connection? but if you’re always power attacking it shouldn’t be a problem

try going under the “item” toggle and toggle it from “Heavy Shield” to “(no shield)”

Summary

if you want Miscellaneous Adventuring Gear you should purchase Miscellaneous Adventuring Gear, except you don’t need to track rations (because it’s a lot of extra bookkeeping) and you don’t need to track basic nonmagical ammunition with no special properties or materials (sling bullets, regular arrows, regular crossbow bolts, etc., as opposed to e.g. cold iron arrows or incendiary arrows or whatever)

and yeah the interpretation in your next post is right, basically (short version of the explanation that leaves out some details) if you’re using a weapon with a wider crit range it can potentially score a critical hit even if you don’t roll a 20 on the die

2 traits by default, 3 if you take a drawback. All your traits need to be from different “categories” (so you could have a Combat trait and a Magic trait, but not two Combat traits or two Magic traits)

oh right something i noticed in the charts

humans gain +1 skill and then +1 skill rank each level. what exactly does this mean

Oracle built for healing is a bit better at healing than Witch, but the Oracle spell list overlaps with the Cleric spell list so if Geyde or someone ends up playing a cleric it might end up feeling a bit redundant. But either of them could work depending on the choices you make about your mystery (for oracles), hexes (for witches), spells known, etc.

if you have a strong preference for playing a spontaneous caster (has a smaller list of spells known, but can flexibly choose how to use their spell slots each day) vs. a prepared caster (in the case of Witch, has a larger list of spells known, and can learn more from scrolls, but has to choose each day which ones to prepare) that could also be relevant

I am going a supportive summoner route because I hate myself and also the DM
