[RP] Magnum Opus (Concluded)

the skills themselves were not massively OP
except for maybe whirlwind puppet

Quick Reflexes

If you are attacked, you will automatically draw a weapon to fight back and will attack first. You can go into negative mana by using this skill.
Costs 🌀10 Mana.

This one never triggered by the way lol
Maybe cause I didn’t have a weapon

if you can’t tell this is how i controlled people and/or creatures

i will like to request/say that this happens both in the shard, and the seal. although for logistical reasons the last bit only happens in the shard

whoever breaks open my particular shard will have a hell of a time

you literally have

a bleed and a poison (both which force someone to waste their turn or cure somehow)
two AoE attacks
half health heal
the ability to literally control someone’s body
the ability to transform into literally anything
two forms of escaping

at the beginning i had a reviving ability which caused hallucations a summoning ability a 1-shot self half revive and an ability that gave me an alt

nice

Fuckery 1: Authors Vampirism

Start the game off with a cursed book hidden from the view of other players. If it is destroyed by any means, spend 5 mana to summon a new one.

Upon giving the book to another player, you unlock several abilities.
Spend 5 mana to learn their current location.
Spend 15 mana to teleport to that player.

If the player opens the book, or automatically opens if the holder engages in combat, it will remain open until the holder is in relative safety. Whilst the book is open, any damage the holder takes will be transferred to you instead. The book will automatically close when reaching 1 HP and cannot be opened until you heal, will trigger plot armour.

Fuckery 2: Bat transformation

Spend 5 mana to transform into a bat, transforming back into a human is always free. Whilst in bat form, luck is increased by 50% but attack is halved and cannot perform special attacks. Whenever you attack a player in bat form, you make them bleed and gain a blood charge.

Fuckery 3: Sadistic Predator

Spend 5 mana to swap a players current health and mana. If their mana is zero, they will be set to 1HP even if they’ve already used plot armour.

Fuckery 4:

Blood Favour :drop_of_blood: :drop_of_blood: :drop_of_blood: :drop_of_blood: :drop_of_blood: :droplet:
Every time you make a player bleed, you gain a blood charge. You may spend these charges to cause different effects.
:drop_of_blood: Identity any other character’s statistics to the best of your ability; the Turncoat’s statistics may prove inaccurate.
:drop_of_blood: Select any other character, and learn their last used Skill - or a random Skill, if none have been used. You may use the learned Skill freely until you learn another.
:drop_of_blood: Select any character, which may be yourself, and increase one of their statistics permanently.
:drop_of_blood: :drop_of_blood: Choose a dead player and an object of your choice. That player’s spirit will be stuck inside the object, until the object is broken. If it is an inanimate object, they may wiggle about. If it is a machine-like object, they may control the functions of that machine.
:drop_of_blood: :drop_of_blood: :drop_of_blood: Select any character, which may be yourself, and revitalise their Health and Mana entirely - even if they’re dead.
Costs 🌀5 Mana.

funnily enough in the end i too kinda had 8 base abilities.
the 4 main ones from my main game self, and 4 from the shard i brought into the main game. shard ones were opop though.

Shard

Trait: Memory: A voice in your mind remembers this plane, and may “recall” locations and memories which will manifest around you.
Forbearance Effect: At the beginning of an encounter, you may choose to limit your foe’s maximum power: if their blow would kill, it instead sets their target to 1 HP. Additionally, recover their Mana by 10, potentially exceeding their maximum. Costs 10 Mana.
Prestige: For every unique enemy you manage defeat with this skill active, immediately level up. Costs 15 Mana.
Escapism: Fracture reality within an enclosed area to your whims. Costs 20 Mana.
Unlearnt Skill.

Silviu's

Water Fling - The Target is soaked in water by an additional 25% and then is pierced by the blades. (Special Attack x1.5 / Elemental Damage%)
Ice Fling - A chance of freezing your target (luck% + (Elemental Damage% / 3 rounded upward)). (Special Attack / Elemental Damage%)
Water Flowing - The Target is soaked by an additional 75%. (Special Attack / Elemental Damage%)
Tide Sprout - Thrusts high pressure water which constantly causes damage to targets in the affected zone (15% of the character’s health, rounded upward). Every target is soaked by an additional 15% for every turn which passes. (Special Attack / Elemental Damage%)

Main

Crystal Supply

Q has some memory shards on her person. She possesses the ability to use her mana to infuse it with the player’s memory of previous events and reach into them to take stuff out. (not restructuring the timeline, just a way to source items)
Costs 🌀10 Mana to Infuse Memory.
Costs 🌀25 Mana to Withdraw Object.

Entanglement

You psychically entangle two nonliving objects or two living entities you know about, which causes the two to be roughly kept in sync, regardless of relative location or distance. If two characters are entangled, damaging one will hurt the other using your Special Attack, although this can only kill the second target if the first will die as well, and vice versa. (Notably, destruction of one object instantly causes the destruction of the other. If its a potion, for instance, drinking one would cause the other to empty a relative amount.)
Costs 🌀10 Mana.

Superposition

Q can split herself into a new copy; despite both beings living independently, the two are still her and are effectively under the effects of the entanglement skill, as are any items on her person at the time. This ability can be withdrawn and recast at any time.
Costs 🌀25 Mana.

Mind Games

Q gets Simon to ask Magnus for a favour: this ability can silently compel a player to truthfully answer the next question asked to a character they control. (even if im not the one asking)
Costs 🌀20 Mana.

also i got this status from the Do Not Push button. magnus defined the negatives but let me choose the positives. now normally when i get this i try to go for something more reasonable. i did not do that this time.

Electricity

  • Ability costs are reduced by half.
  • Max Health is limited by half.
  • You will immediately succumb to a killing blow.
  • Bleeding wounds are immediately cauterised.
  • A successful melee attack shocks the target, paralysing them for a turn and harshly lowering their defence.

That ability reduction is what allowed me to gain essentially infinite mana, because a mana potion refilled more than it took to summon one.

hey yeah!

not a shard, that one.

those i did not start with

only on myself and used an exorbitant amount of mana

at a small range and with a size limit as i had to do it via air currents
also huge amount of mana

for the record i intended superposition to be one doubling only, i just never put that into wording.
given that my stuff aren’t that op on the face of it. i dont have nearly any combat abilities, and the one i do have doesnt actually help me output damage. does wonders when trying to survive though. no plot armor of my own but i can sure use everyone elses!

to be fair, those mana costs are important. they just became. less important

less important yes

2 things,
one i wish all of you saw my enterance in the shard it was really cool.
two, for everyone in the shard, can i ask what your trait was and how accurate you feel it is (the name, not necessarily the effect)
mine was memory, 10/10 an ongoing character theme of mine
