(Outsiders should be kn (Planes) iirc)
((Aw shucks. That’s a 14+2 for Arius in that case.))
(K(planes), and it’s a Knowledge skill, so if you don’t have any ranks your result is “capped” at a total of 10)
Vermleks are a type of demon formed from the souls of mortals who desecrated corpses, like necromancers or people who rob graves to sell their corpses to anatomists. From what you recall, they’ve got a few different magical talents relevant to combat — most relevantly, they can summon dretches, cast a mass Inflict Light Wounds spell, and possess dead humanoids. Like many demons, they’re best damaged with cold iron or good-aligned weaponry (either works), but they also have an unusual semi-vulnerability in the fact that they respond to positive and negative energy like undead, and would be damaged (…slightly, it’s not usually an incredibly practical combat option) by positive energy.
Wanderer will offer to speak more about Vermleks, citing that Pulurans are experts on demons.
“Perhaps once we’ve finished eating,” says Nyna, looking a touch queasy at your proposal.
(Those of you watching Nyna for cues may notice that when she finishes eating, she carefully positions her silverware on her plate, running horizontally from left to right with her fork facing down.)
He nods back.
As supper winds down and servants come to clear away the plates, the baron speaks up. “Will you join me in the drawing room? I have a proposition to discuss with you.” He turns to Nyna. “I’m sure you must be tired after such a long journey. Halina can show you to your quarters.”
I look to… uhm…
…Wanderer to see how he’ll respond? He… seems to be good at this.
“Honestly, Zelsh only survived by the skin of Zelsh’s teeth.” the hslf-orc admitted.
Drakor nodded, but drank from his glass as he waited for the others to make the first move.
Wanderer nods to the proposal.
He decides to wait for an appropriate signal from the dinner host (this is not the baron) before standing up.
(So like, no action currently)
“Of course,” says Halina. “Right this way, Madam Kaver.” She gestures to Nyna to follow her, leading her out of the room.
The drawing room is fairly small, but the walls are decorated with beautiful tapestries (doubling as insulation), depicting a series of scenes involving hunters defeating dangerous creatures, ranging from dire bears to a hydra to an allosaurus. A few mahogany couches with silk cushions are arranged around a low table. The same guard who was standing by the wall during supper follows him into the drawing room, standing unobtrusively against the wall.
The baron sits down on one of the armchairs, gesturing at you to take the others. As you take your seats, a servant refills your wine glasses before departing the room.
“How much do you know about the man who rules the lands to the east, Eskil Dalin?” asks the baron, Avel Rodin.
Zelsh took a sip of his wine aft we r sitting down on one of the chairs. After all, there weren’t any threats to worry about here.
I awkwardly eye the glass because… I’m… not supposed to have alcohol. But I’m also supposed to… not refuse stuff from people of a higher class than me, and I’m… very certain the man with the title Baron is that and we’re not in some stranger’s house who’s masquerading as the baron.
…So I cup the glass between by two fingers, and let the thin long glass handle thing… hang in the air.
I’m pretty sure this isn’t how you’re meant to hold wine.
…
Oh! He asked a question! And it’s a simple answer so… now’s my time to look good!
…
Uhm.
(I’m rolling a lore check to figure out who the other Baron is.)

Yes, take a +4 circumstance bonus since you Literally Used To Work For His Father (and I guess technically worked for him too, briefly,)
