[RP] Play-By-Post Pathfinder

“…”

And what Lionel just said… lends a lot of credence to it.

I bite my nails.

“Uhm.”

Canary turns towards a sleeping Arius.

Then back to the group. “Is there anything else we needed to discuss?”

“I do not wish to make a judgement on the necessity of a particular course of action.”

He pauses.

“I do believe that I have nothing more I wish to say at the moment.”

In response, she looks at Drakor to see if he has any additional comments.

Drakor looked like he was asleep. He probably wouldn’t-

“What about you, Canary?” Drakor asked.

“…Ehhh.”

She raises her left index finger over the left side of her lips in thought.

“I. Hope we all do our. Best. In preventing the…”

The hanging sentence leads to another. “…I guess. Don’t beat yourself up too badly w- if something bad happens. On our… mission?” She grasps for the term. “You did your best.”

That’s a general ‘you’

“Mmm,” Drakor grunted. “Fair enough.”

Canary slinks back down into her cot, leaving her attempt at ‘encouraging words’ in the air.

For a martyr-bound, she’s not fantastic at inspiring people.

Drakor rolled over, politely ignoring Canary’s deflection of Wanderer’s original question.

Wanderer intensely stares at the wall past Canary, though this could easily be interpreted as looking at her.

He is analyzing. Canary is strange, a person who seems perpetually teetering on the edge. A guilty conscience, one who bears the weight of guilt for deeds both real and imagined. An utter pushover. But…clearly guided in a selfless direction.

What ails Canary?

He considers that he has no means to determine this nor the trust to have a conversation on such things at the current moment. These people invariably explode after enough time passes, so something must be done.

He goes to sleep.

To fill the hollow shell of purpose held by One Who Wanders, one may consider taking on the burden of others, no?

The singing of the song was so good that it brouhht tears to Zelsh’s eyes. “That was the best singing of it that Zelsh has ever heard.” he told the singer inban admiring tone.

She grins at you. “Glad to hear it! I’ll be here all evening!”

Kamilla’s trial has been proactively scheduled for the next morning, a couple hours after dawn, giving those of you who will be present enough time to eat breakfast (and prepare spells, if applicable) before heading over. Like Granite Hill, many of the people in the town are still heading out to the surrounding fields, but compared to Granite Hill there are far more people opening up shops or other businesses.

The combined temple/bank/courthouse has three stories. The ground story is the temple, currently empty. There’s a cistern at the front entrance (apparently a loss-leader of sorts, since the water is being offered freely), rather more elaborate than the one in Granite Hill. Like Granite Hill, part of the temple has been marked off to allow for space for a healing channel, but the configuration is a bit different; rather than benches arranged in a semicircle, they’re arranged in rows, and there’s a bit of empty floor space on the outer edge of the circle. Paintings are hanging on the walls, but rather than depicting scenes from Abadar’s holy book, they appear to be… some kind of complicated allegory, probably? or something???

Above the temple is the bank, which is currently staffed by a dwarven woman in clean white robes with golden trim and a holy symbol of Abadar around her neck. (A sign on another counter reads “Junior Banker Illias is currently serving as a trial consultant. He will return later today.”) In addition to the cleric, a small number of other people have rented space (and protection) from the Abadarans: there’s a wizard with a handwritten chart listing prices for his spells (though none above first level) as well as for nonmagical scribal services, and an elderly half-elven man hawking beads. As you pass through the area, you see someone approach the wizard with a basket of clothing and hand him some money; the wizard waves his hand over the clothing, and the person who bought it thanks him and departs.

The courthouse level is divided into several rooms. There aren’t nearly enough rooms for them to keep the witnesses completely segregated from each other, but when you enter, someone splits you off into four separate smaller rooms (with some people sharing by necessity) and informs you that you will be summoned to the actual courtroom if the magistrate deems your testimony necessary.

(what are some of the prices/spells?)
(I’m not looking to buy anything… I could just bug arius or do it myself, I’m just curious what the going rates of these things are.)

Canary awkwardly taps her knees, leaning against the wall the bench she’s on is placed against.

Wanderer enters a meditative state.

Spells
Prestidigitation (Laundry) - 1 Bit
Mending - 5 Bits/item
Scrivener’s Chant - 1 Bit/page
Ant Haul - 5 Bits
Endure Elements - 1 Link
Enlarge Person, Reduce Person, Mage Armor — 1 Link (15 minute wait time)

(Even though this person seems to be the only wizard in the room, these prices are definitely cheaper than what a wizard would charge in a wealthy area — but then again, if they were trying to demand that sort of price, no one would be able to pay.)

Drakor withdrew an abacus from his cloak and began doing recreational math.

Math, not the thing spelled similarly. I don’t think that one is setting-appropriate.
