(Bit=copper coin, link=silver coin, and crown=gold coin, correct?)
(Yep)
(Thanks. ^_^)
(The scarring on his hand is somewhat faded, and you expect it might continue to fade, but you think the arm is pretty unlikely to return to its initial level of functionality on its own — part of the problem is that it healed incorrectly , it’s not just that it hasn’t had time to finish healing yet. You’d guess that it would have been pretty hard to tell it apart from other flavors of broken arm at first, though, especially if he was performing a self-assessment on his own broken arm rather than getting a companion to do it for him.)
Deep. Breath.
This isn’t for you. So you have to stay strong.
I pick out the pure metal ones, and set them aside. “…I don’t think either of us would get a good deal if we. Agreed on the price for these.” I’m trying to leave open the opportunity for him to take a piece or two of them if he eyes it. But… I sorta doubt that.
“…How much without them?”
(What can be done to restore functionality?)
He looks over the items again. “I can offer you a hundred crowns for those,” he says in a pleasant tone. “But I doubt you’ll find a better price for the other items anywhere in this town.”
(I think for this one I am going to need a Heal check, I’m really not seeing Survival)
“I’m not from here.” I pocket the others, and feign a smile. “Thank you for being patient with me.”
Paprika frowns a little as she sees Canary ignoring her awesome plan.
“I’ll note that woman is selling this jewelry on my behalf,” she called out to the jeweler. “She’s hardly restricted to selling in this town. Don’t undersell her. I know its worth.”
Canary looks to the side as-
(look i gave you time to enact a plan and you went missing for forty minutes)
(SORRY IVE BEEN BUSY)
(…but it’s in character for both of them)
(Paprika is Worse at appraisal checks than Canary. She cannot take 10. She does not know their worth)
(you only have 4 int mod?)
(Would taking 10 be enough?)
He looks over the pair of you again, treating you rather more seriously this time. “I see,” he says to Rika. “Perhaps I can offer you a hundred crowns for those pieces, as I agreed on with your valet, and you would be willing to exchange the remaining pieces as payment for the Icerime amethyst necklace I suggested?”
(your impression is that this is much less of a lowball offer in terms of value, and that he ~thinks he’s being fair here; it seems like he intends this offer as a face-saving way to agree to a higher price, not as a scam, though obviously from your perspective receiving payment in the form of a necklace is much less flexible than receiving payment in the form of actual money)
I think it’s something like… DC 10 “have any ideas that could work”, DC 15 “have practical ideas”, DC 20 “more information about practical ideas”?
Canary looks…
…Well. She has an expression on her face. It’s pretty hard to tell what it is, though.
(With guidance or like an aid or something, I’d hit DC 15)
