…Canary visibly does not like this answer. She seemingly expected you to be humble and ask for 50/50, which she would then try to negotiate down to 75 (for you) 25 (for her)… but you went a bit too far for her to do that.
“…Could we split it?” She tries to regain any sense of composure. She’ll feel guilty if she gets out of this having even a coin more from it than you, because she regards the fact that you took the jewellry to mean It Is Now Yours.
Rika now fails to appraise her new necklace. (4)
Hi! To find out what I can do, say @discobot display help.
Cogs are turning.
“How about if we create a group fund with it where people can take from it as necessary?”
“But it’s yours…” The idea of a group fund actually seems to… sound a little worse than her just taking it? She doesn’t know a lot of these people, and she doesn’t trust most of them.
(One must imagine wanderer happy)
His eye slightly twitches. He’s approaching his wit’s end.
“Sure, let’s split it. 50/50?”
Canary frowns when she notices you’re upset, but nods anyway.
[You have been given 50 crowns.]
He recomposes.
“How goes it?” He gestures to the shop while looking at Canary.
“I don’t know.” She frowns. “Surely it can’t be anything to do with medicine, though. A baron like him could afford to pay for a Remove Disease if he needed one, right? Real medicine, not the nonsense Jan is peddling.”
It doesn’t seem like her fixation on the medicine thing seems to have any particular basis, beyond the fact that Jan’s shop sells books of medicine and hers does not.
“Uhm…”
(i’m imaging they actually stepped away from right next to the bookstore owner.)
“…Besides that, not too much. Rika is… trying to get some information off the owner but.-”
As the sound of the owner speaking fills the store, she goes silent, and starts again. “It doesn’t seem to be going the best.”
4, actually, since you’re Shaken,
Well, you won’t be able to tell for sure until the necklace commission is complete, but from how the book is talking about it, you’d guess you got an incredible deal! You’d guess your necklace is worth even more than the jewelry you sold for it! Maybe the jeweler is stupid? Maybe he simply detected that you were a desirable customer? It’s hard to say for certain.
(Is there more you want to investigate here?)
(probably im just drunk irl)
(…wait, she doesn’t have the necklace. I fotogt)
(Sounds good)
(I also dont know what to investigate here exactly so uh)
He scratches the back of his head.
“I turned up mostly nothing but that cult lead went somewhere! Not useful for the investigation but it did go somewhere!”
