(I would say so, yes)
(Notably, although the building is boarded up, there are enough cracks that you would normally expect someone in Gaseous Form to be able to pass through it. It doesn’t allow the target to pass through a completely solid surface, but the building is not airtight.)
Arius relays the information he gathered to Wanderer.
((@Geyde, I just checked, and apparently Gaseous Form is a lv3 spell. I don’t think we will be able to win a 2v2 combat, considering your character is a non-combatant.))
((Do you think diplomacy is possibly on the table?))
(Can Rika Sense Motive to figure out whether Amelie is tolerant of this conversation/what she’d want to talk about? If so nya)

(Your impression is that she’s tolerant of it, but finds it fairly uninteresting, and is somewhat worried that it might escalate to you complaining about her adjusting her prices in response to the influx of new arrivals. She’d probably be more interested in hearing about your ~business — she knows how her own business is going, she doesn’t know about other people’s. She may also have political interests, but if so it’s much harder to get a sense of them, and that’s obviously a much riskier topic.)
“I must apologize for my companions. I have been keeping the company of some odd people under the orders of nobility.” Paprika smiled wryly. “At this rate, I’m afraid I’ll create more strange gossip — there’s more than enough of that around these days.”
She leans in, tilting her head slightly in curiosity. “Is that so?”
(your impression is that she would definitely like to hear about the strange gossip)
“mmm…let’s get out of here and revisit tomorrow. We’ll see if the group still has space in the inn.”
Wanderer agrees with Arius’s apparent skepticism regarding their chances. He clearly wants to do something about this. But self-preservation is a hell of a thing.
(can we just leave?)
“In the worst case scenario, I could always sleep outside the village.” Arius then mentions his possession of a small tent.
((Yes. Pray that we can are allowed to leave.))
Paprika leans in and speaks quietly.
“Two of my stranger… well, companions, I suppose, are presently investigating the abandoned hospital on the outskirts of town, for one.” Paprika flinched a little as she spoke. “I hope they don’t bring down a plague. And it seems everybody’s bragging that they’ve had a noble visit lately: the jeweler, the bookseller… it’s a bit unusual for their types, isn’t it? I don’t mean to criticize, but that jeweler didn’t even seem to know the worth of the amethyst he sold me.”
(yes, you can leave)
((To make it easier for Geyde: When it comes to lodging -i.e., following him to Amélie’s or sleeping outside-, Arius will simply follow whatever Wanderer tells him to do.))
Wanderer goes to Amelie’s.
“Well, I certainly hope they think better of that ,” she says, allowing a judgmental note into her tone. “The last thing Hazel Ford needs right now is a bout of plague.”
(your impression is that she’s attempting to Build Rapport by Making Statements She Expects You To Agree With)
She looks rather taken aback at your comment about the jeweler. “Messire Pannin? He’s been in the business for quite some time… but I suppose even masters can make mistakes.”
She thinks for a moment about the rest of your statement. “It was rather the scandal when Baron Dalin to our north took power, and started staying with the jeweler rather than accepting the Lord-Mayor’s hospitality.” She slowly sips from her wine glass. “His father always stayed with the Lord-Mayor, you know, and visited us rather more frequently — I believe the honored northern baron last graced our town with his premise in Calistril.”
Supper is ongoing, though it’s starting to wrap up — as you enter, a very quiet family appears to be leaving the central dining area for their rooms. A few other groups are still finishing up their meals; Rika is currently speaking with a woman in her late fifties or early sixties.
Can I get a general vibe read of this place and how people are acting?
Sure, roll Sense Motive
