[RP] Play-By-Post Pathfinder

He swallows. It’s frustrating to interact with a person with a complex, but hey maybe they just want an expression of inferiority.

“That’s fair. You are clearly more informed on such matters. What do you think is the next step to get that additional information?”

“Well, we could always take that man up on his offer to go get a truth spell and ask about his involvement with the crime scene.” Paprika gestured lightly toward where Guard 1 had left, her sleeve flowing as she moved. “That seems like a fruitful lead. We could even find out if there were footprints he destroyed on his visit.”

“Barring investigation by other members of the watch—“ she didn’t turn to Guard 2 “—we don’t have much way to figure out why he’s acting so suspicious. Maybe Drakor will find something while he’s tracking the prints. Barring that, we should look into anybody with ties to House Rogarvia, the original man who wanted to appease red dragons, or a reason to choose this particular cellar to conduct activities.”

Wanderer nods.

“Do you want me to decide between these…or?”

Without moving her head, Paprika flicked her eyes briefly toward Guard 2. Depends what he does.

“For now, let’s go over the cellar one more time while we contemplate the unlawful destruction of evidence which occurred here. I don’t think the demon cultists meticulously scrubbed the walls.”

Now that her honour is particularly at stake, Paprika looks over for clues extremely carefully…

Drakor (@Squirrel2412), you, accompanied by Zelsh (@Leafia) and the older watchman, are able to follow the trail without much difficulty. The footprints were evidently laid quite recently — you’d guess sometime after last night’s thunderstorm — and they stick out easily in the fresh mud.

At first, the trail leads you down the street that the pewter shop was on, which is filled with plenty of people, but as it winds its way through the city, it’s only a few minutes before it cuts through a back alleyway. It’s still no challenge to follow the trail, but unlike the street you were previously on, it seems to be devoid of any other people. The older watchman looks warily at the alleyway, drawing his shortsword as he starts to advance down it.

It’s hard for you to spot much beyond what’s already been noticed; whoever cleaned the scene was apparently reasonably thorough.

You can take 20 but it will take you 20 times as long to conduct the search, does that sound good to you?

Drakor drew his warhammer, placing his dueling dagger in his off hand.

Rafau makes a displeased expression, but regardless, he continues down the alleyway. The alleyway isn’t all that long, but even so, the noise of the surrounding streets is somewhat quieter. As you follow the trail, Rafau is keeping some kind of lookout, scanning the scene carefully.
