…Once again, Scar Guy is the winner. At this rate, he’ll be able to afford the potion in, like, three or four years! (Or faster, considering that he’s presumably also getting money from his actual job.)

Now Drunk Guy is complaining about how some new families moved into his building recently and their babies won’t stop crying in the middle of the night. (“They’re babies, that’s what they do,” says Kerchief Woman.)

I make some sort of nod at the lady with the flower… bandana thing’s comment to pretend to be somewhat involved with the conversation. To pretend I have some control of the flow.

…I. Wait for another hand.

This match comes out to a straight tie between Scar Guy and Kerchief Woman.

(“I know that’s what they do!” says the drunk guy, drunkenly. “That’s the whole problem, isn’t it?”)

(Scar Guy and Kerchief Woman exchange a look and decide not to argue.)

I start to settle into a routine. Be silent. Get dealt to. Lose. Conversation. Repeat.

…I feel a little weird.

I. Don’t think I can do this.

Kerchief woman wins this one outright.

Conversation drifts again, this time to a new bakery that opened up recently. Apparently, everyone present agrees that the bread is both more expensive and worse than the other bakeries that were already in town.
