Your lucerne hammer smashes into the spiderâs exoskeleton! Youâve clearly dealt it a significant injury, but itâs still standing. It hisses at you, its many eyes swivelling to look directly at you.
end turn
((at least, Iâm assuming thatâs your full turn, if you secretly had a swift action you wanted to use let me know
))

âYou only have one?â Drakor frowned. âSeems less effective than carrying four throwing knives.â
The spider advances towards Bugibugi, snapping at him with its jaws. It bites down on his left arm, sinking its teeth into him, but Bugibugi is able to throw off the worst of its venom.
(take 3 damage, and itâs your turn!)
Mechanics
The spider took a five-foot step, a special type of movement that doesnât provoke an attack of opportunity, to get in reach of Bugibugi. It rolled a 13 on the die, for a total of 15 to hit, which normally wouldnât hit Bugibugiâs AC of 16 â but since Bugibugi had just charged, he had a -2 penalty to AC, so it did hit after all. The attack deals 1d6 damage (with no modifier), and includes a poison effect â but Bugibugi got a 24, and the save DC to negate the effect was 14, so Bugibugi was not poisoned.
âThat may be so. In principle I donât think itâs impossible to carry four starknives, but in practice we only have the one for sale, soâŚâ She gives you a friendly shrug.
