as a spectator who is quite experienced at the game
jedi played very well (especially atno/jane/whysper for being able to towncore and correctly put sith out of government) but sith made a few key blunders + a bit of bad luck that probably cost them the game
-
minor error - amelia should have elected a jedi as chancellor and not wazza
the deck was at that point in time 8 S and 3 J, and it’s incredibly unlikely that you pull JJS which is the only reason that you would want a sith chancellor to your sith president
drops unnecessary shade on wazza for being in a red government that could be shunted onto a jedi chancellor instead
it also removes from amelia the option of conflicting to take out one of the liberals that will be very dangerous down the line (see pt. 2)
amelia postured around this a fair amount and atno caught it and i think it wasn’t advantageous to even do that at all
you only want an s/s government when there’s a high ratio of J/S cards in the deck -
major error - wazza should have thrown the j when she had the chance
in a vacuum this doesn’t look like a terrible idea-- setting up a soft to palpatine that youre a fascist
but passing the 3rd jedi policy had disastrous consequences for the sith chances of winning
if you look at the president list, there are 5 vice chairs that will pass jedi policies that come after wazza-- the first of which being atno who has had up until this point amazing social reads handling a deck with an 90% chance of drawing a blue
in other words, it’s quite likely that after atno’s presidency, she’ll have to deal with 4 non-sith vice chairs on a 4-1 policy track and guaranteed 2 blue policies coming up between them
silviu is the only sith decently likely to pick chancellor-- if isolde is chancellor before the 3rd red and conflicts, that’s game over
so it put sith on the massive backfoot for the entire rest of the game
