but like i thought we all agreed probatio diabolica was bad and we shouldn’t force people to make them

it’s impossible to argue logically

…I will assume you are throwing the game by openwolfing then.

That’s literally how probatio diabolica works.
*googles if probatio diabolica is logical*
…huh. It isn’t. I stand corrected.

me excitedly running to google to learn what probatio diabolica means because it sounds cool and I can’t wait to use it

I agree that carbonated’s post is good, I particularly liked the tone in the part where she noticed Zone came to the same conclusion as her!

…sigh. I wish I can say sorry to gummy right now, but this one will take a while before I can. I won’t continue talking about it though, for what it’s worth.

Eh, fair enough.

I was not present during the “we agreement” and if I was, then I’ve long since forgotten about it.

This doesn’t seem like an assumption that is likely to end up being correct very often. I think if she’s mafia that isn’t what she’s doing.

Then I’d like to ask: “What is she doing?”

…but I know that you don’t know either, and I highly doubt that the one in question will answer me with a rational reasoning.

I believe her post is saying that she finds it easier to have opinions on things when pressure is higher, similar to how a non newtonian fluid will be liquid when under no pressure and will solidify when pushed on.

So the claim is that currently, since there isn’t the time crunch of deadline approaching, it feels to her like nothing notable is happening and her reads lack solidity. At deadline, with a wagon on her, she was able to have stronger opinions and reads.

I contested this because I’m not very convinced that those reads would go away completely when there’s no pressure.

It’s possible I’m reading too much into a three word post, but I enjoyed the concept of the metaphor too much not to!

If she’s mafia, she’s dodging accountability by coming up with an excuse to not give reads, or is trying to look like her town self, or wants to appeal to people by looking unconcerned by the push on her and unfocused on survival.

If she’s town, she’s being genuine, although I think she would be able to come up with reads if she tried to and some of the pressure needs to come from within.

Either way, I don’t think she’s openwolfing!

…it amazes me that you were able to find an interpretation out of oobleck.

…well. If such was the case, then I still find Jaiden’s reasoning to be nonsensical. She was pressured at D1 when put against carbonated, before the pressure suddenly moves to gummy.

By then she claimed “nothing happened in D1” which is objectively wrong, and now -if we are to use your interpretation- she is claiming that her reads won’t solidify unless she is pressured again.

At this point I don’t think pressure matters, and she’s just avoiding work.

I pretty much agree with that.

Side note: I recall not what her town self looks like due to my poor memory, and from what I understand from pandora she is unable to make a proper read on Jaiden due to their intimacy.

Even if three players were to point FoS at her, me thinks a single player’s vote is not worth much as a pressure.

I see lack of content as scummy. As you said: Dodging accountability.

I tend not to be… empathetic, as you might have noticed by how I am unaccustomed of avoiding name-calling. It is… not easy for me to see Jaiden as genuine. It is not easy for me to look beneath the surface, or to give the “pressure from within”. (…which I believe is called “intrinsic motivation”?)

I know not how to handle these characters, but -true to my word- all I want… is content. Content that I can use to read players, and to progress the game. Content to update my own reads, and to make a better judgement out of them.

…I need not someone whose messages require an interpreter, only to tell me that the message itself bears no content.

just sort of within the system of formal logic it’s acknowledged as impossible therefore asking someone to do it is sort of rude

Ah, well. No matter how much I try to learn courtesy, it doesn’t seem like my rude nature can be removed out of me.

what are we even talking about. i didnt push carbonated. i defended gummy. please show me where youre getting this from

i could give you a readslist. it would be completely useless. it would not reflect my opinions 15 minutes from now. its not like everyone other than me has extremely strong reads if they did i wouldnt be under such pressure for not doing much
