@pandora can you go into as much detail as possible explaining your thought process on voting carbonated? I’m referring to prior to the vote actually happening, I just want a recap of what you were thinking. It’s hard for me to understand, and if you’re town I think understanding that will be necessary for me to see it.
@carbonated can you link me any games where you’ve played as mafia? Preferably ones where you think you did well.
I only have one on FoL unfortunately in my working memory. The other ones are on qbcord, for which I’d need to ask the permission of 20+ people to release.

yep no worries! yeah i’ve been told I play very differently 
i think generally my w!self is a couple of things. I had a 0% wolf winrate for like. almost two years 
:
- usually makes very illogical arguments (i once made up a form of wagonomics for qbcord and then manipiulated people into believing it was actual wagonomics)
- usually outs herself accidentally (qbcord can attest I have done this at least three times—I often misread things, misconstrue them, or am careless)
- or, if none of the above, busses teammates to hell starting from entering right in the game to all the way to the end.
tldr; i have a terrible wolfgame 
yeah lmao i’m scrolling back in my notes and the only two maf games i’ve ever won i was hardcarried by benguined and gummy. lmao.

i’m going through my catalogue and the only other games I can find (which are all towngames) are um. either FAM or ones I didn’t make it to like Day 2 lol (or got vigged on day 2).

my entire thoights for the day leading up to the vote:
I was so sure I was dead that I didn’t even check thread

It’s Childe? Childe is the opposite of a threat.
I agreed wrh this post, but it got me thinking about WHY I wasn’t dead.
then Carbonated made their big post and it threw out a lot of red flags.
I also had this thought, but I didn’t say it. I didn’t need to.
Carbonated very pointedly said that they wouldn’t act the way that the wolf acted. I hate “I would never do that” arguments.

Going like “WTF the wolf did the most confusing thing??? and now I (a townie) am fucked up about it?” not once not twice but five times is a little much.
To me, waiting is agonizing and I didn’t expect to have to put effort into the day and I wanted to make a big play that would either win or get the game over with.
I posted this and then immediately forwarded it to the gms who gave me the go-ahead to snap vote
And then it crystalized in my head:
This was a metaphor for my actual thought process: Do I vote apen, someone I suspect, or do I switch?
…Why am I alive? I’m pretty much consensus town and I had a plan going into the day. I expected to die because I expected Apen to be wolf and my dying would possibly bury my “kill mistyx me and apen to win” legacy. If apen let me live, they’re a much worse mafia player than I thought.
Therefore, there was only one option:
Monty hall in this case meaning re-evaluating my assumed position and biases. I wasn’t actually one hundred percent sure, but I wanted to take a bold, make-or-break step and also not think about the game anymore. A vote either way means I don’t have to think about the game anymore: It’s either over or I’m locked on the real wolf.
Additionally:
If I was wolf, I had zero reason to switch. I’m a very very very careful and thoughtful wolf, to a fault, which Jaiden could attest to if it was here. Therefore there is literally no reason to change my position going into the final vote: I had a “read”, I had built up a “case” and it was built up enough that I could’ve just pinged the other person with all of my “proof” and calculations and whatever and just voted you. There is literally no reason to abandon all of that for a snap vote with no case, no precident, no progression. Give me a little more credit.
now, was it perfect? No. Was it actually monty hall? uhh kinda? From five, we removed two of the four doors (fmpov), leaving me with two. Although I don’t think switching is the actual best solution every time, re-evaluating and choosing one of the two doors independantly of your original choice certainly is.
And like it doesn’t make sense for anyone to kill childe EXCEPT carbonated. They couldn’t kill you because I had childe HARD locktown. they couldn’t kill me because they wanted me to vote for you. Childe was a wildcard
I couldn’t kill you because i had clearly set up a 50/50 between us. I wouldn’t kill childe because they shared my read on you
You wouldn’t’ve killed childe because you had set your sights on them. You wouldn’t’ve killed me because I set up that 50/50. If it was either of us, Carbonated would be dead
well you could’ve killed me also i did say this so this is sort of backwards reasoning but like I still maintain that if it was you it would not be childe dead.
A lot of the stuff after the vote WAS backwards reasoning, like carbonated pointed out, seeing signs where before I wasn’t sure
