i called zone town because i think coming out swinging in a sort of performative (theres a better word for this but i can’t think of it) way is ++town here given that this is a game marketed around getting town to play better

I have played enough games where my gut can tell me that this day too will lead to stagnation, and to prevent that we have to start differentiating ourselves from each other, make risky reads, test each others’ reactions.

And since I didn’t see any of you do it, I’ll be the one to start the controversial topics:

“How should we handle slankers?”

Nearly 12 hours have passed, and we can roughly estimate those who will be more present in this game than others, and those who are likely to be as unremarkable as a ghost.

I say: If people don’t show participation right now, then we shouldn’t even bother pointing fingers at each other, and instead focus on the silent ones. The slankers would just either become ML fodder like childe in The Cheesening, or stay alive UTR like Neon from the same game.

We cannot let the tragedy of having slankers at LYLO happen again. Daeron’s ideology be damned, we need to purge slankers ASAP.

Because in my experience, the hosts move too slowly; slankers are able to make (and have been making) enough posts in the early Days, only to drop out and fluff at later Days. (This was literally what Neon did in D3 or D4 in The Cheesening.)

acknowledged but i heavily disagree especially given that this is supposed to be an instructive game

if someone isn’t engaging with the game then the first step should always be trying to help them with that and not just “yeah cut them out immediately”

uh. as someone who comes from a circuit where there are a lot of inactives and it’s not considered to be a terrible thing i am probably inexperienced to speak on how to address this on probably a more aggressive circuit. and while i understand where you are coming from can you uh. not antagonize neon right now. (or other players for the matter)

either way i dislike the vote. personally.

I can’t figure out how to quote multiple posts at the same time, but this and the next two bother me a bit.

I don’t think critiquing the vote is bad, but the way they go about it feels like they’re intent on finding something wrong with it, while also downplaying the commitment to their push.

I find this suspicious because it reminds me more of mafia who are looking for things that stand out as weird despite knowing the people doing them are town. It feels too forced, and less like town who has genuinely identified something they’re interested in.

Overall they also give me a feeling of wanting to just drop some noncommital thoughts and get out and not get caught up in any negative attention.
