That wastes time which is a substantive enough counterargument all the same. Like how the impulse for new groups in Trouble Brewing might be killing the Recluse every game.
as this outsider you cant lose if youre alive so you dont have much incentive to come out and offer to die
if the demon dies you lose
Giving players the option to kill themselves d1 if they really don’t want to play a role is not a failing against the role itself, so long as it doesn’t just make the game borderline unplayable to keep it in (like that one ability Leafia had in Unkindness).

For curiosity’s sake. I believe it was changed to “even if dead” in a later patch, ‘though maybe that was simply suggested or was reversed I haven’t kept up.
basically you are incentivized to 1000% lie and do what you can to get to end game but then the second you die you will come out as the outsider and undo the chaos. which i think is good amount of outsiderness, i dont like politician just being full extra evil

Goon can turn evil n1 and get locked evil that way
Politician is even if dead so it’s generally just encouraged to buy into the ability
