I think you and dia and hippo raise decent points for alexis town. they’re a little similar for why you were townread d1 in undertale (essentially sum to “too high effort”) for me to really feel the townread, but I will agree it’s probably fine and only something to revisit later on in the game

I am reluctantly townreading jason, and I forgot why but I remember having the thought earlier, so there was probably a reason. it’s not strong but I guess I’d townread jason over like hippo who is someone with townreads on him.

Some serious damage control. Cannot stress this enough: everything from Shending so far is nai if not actually towny!!! i KNOW he posts like a redditor but my god i just spent a literal week being paranoid and scumreading him bc of just the same things u all r reacting to rn. Turns out he rly just writes like that. Might seem performative but he’s just engaged and i was just lucky last time to have others from our community who knew his writing style better. May would confirm if she could. Also he’s way too experienced for the expectation-managent stuff, if that makes sense. Like if it were not genuine and nai for him he wouldn’t as a cheating lesbian write about his coming absence in the first place.
Hanging him would be a serious waste as he will be a great asset if town.

For what it’s worth, I think we’re making a distinctly different read than “too high effort”?
It’s specifically that they’re being really blunt about their reads, almost to the point of being antagonistic. From experience, mafia actively avoids doing stuff like this because you don’t want people to be biased against you because that’ll destroy you down the line.
So either they’ve been incredibly self-destructive to their win condition and would lose Fx if it comes down to it, or they’re just town, and I’m inclined to believe the latter, especially since it matches my over-aggressive play from when I started playing mafia.

I spent the last 4 hours doing pieces of it and then getting distracted by something else, and then coming back to it, and then getting distracted by the Steel Ball Run anime adaptation (did you know that Netflix only released the first episode and that David Productions has no idea when they’re gonna be able to release further episodes of it), and rinse and repeat.
Might be cooked.

They did but locked in after a couple of hours, though that was likely a function of the playerbase for that game being really active.
There’s a good argument for, “This is how that t!Dia would play in a game with this level of activity,” but there’s not enough data for a contrast, hence me asking them about meta.

I should actually answer this.

Alexis and Jason read as Town to me. Regarding Jason, there are probably good parallels you can draw between this game and Grande Idea, but that feels excessive for a D1 read.

Ishmael lock town for the number of people who’ve asked if the ride-or-die is real (this is half a joke; will probably read Project Moon/Beatings II at some point).

Currently leaning Town on Dia. I imagine the self-meta thing won’t change this, but it’d be a good thing to have as an anchor going forward.

Leaning Town on Shending. This one is just vibes: specifically, #126 and #147 read as towny to me.

Neutral on Hippo. I think they had the opportunity to undermine Alexis, and so them choosing not to take it is a point in their favor, but I want to reread Odyssey before giving them an outright Town Lean.

I’ve spoken about Chomps before (#276).

Weirdly, I think I’ve been side-eyeing you a bit? Which I recognize is a bit mean to drop right after you spoke about enjoying playing with me after so long, and it’s decently colored from building outwards from t!me, but I also feel like you’ve vaguely been rather floaty this game. You didn’t seem too invested in your scumreads on me or Hippo, and I disagree with Jason’s argument that you wouldn’t accept a pocket as mafia (in my head, you’d just be posting “JASON I’M SORRY” in mafia chat). But I also know that this is a playstyle thing, so I’m probably gonna have to just backread your FoL games tomorrow and piece things out from there.
