Whats the difference between

2. leggings

Why are there so many words

Fishnets are a type of stocking

Leggings are closer to like, yoga pants (think Lululemon) — they cover the same part of your body as pants do, whereas the other 3 cover your feet. The main difference between those is how high they go (obviously) and their opacity

Stockings are usually made out of a translucent nylon-y material, they may go up to the thigh or they may be shaped like pants. They go under a skirt/dress/pants and are not worn alone

Leggings are stretchy pants made out of an athletic-y material usually worn alone, they are a type of pants, it’d be odd to wear them under a skirt

Thigh highs are ~socks that go up to the thigh, they may be thigh high stockings (translucent nylony material as mentioned above) or thigh high socks (normal sock material, go up to mid-thigh)

Knee high socks are normal socks but they go up to the knee. They’re like shorter thigh highs

I have The amazon basics skirt everybody has. I would’ve bought stripy thigh hish with it but I thought ym mom would judge me. In my defence I was 14

I need to go buy more clothes but I didnt have too much success last time i tried

One time as a kid i went out to buy jeans on my own and i picked ones that i liked and the vendor asked me “are those for you or a gift” and i said “for me” and she looked me weird and said “those are … women’s jeans…” and we sat there in silence for a minute or two and i felt awkward and embarassed and left and went back home
