the revelation that normal people can be awake for more than 4 hours and retain energy is a sobering one
you should see a doctor. I did and they found out my thyroid was failing which reminds me that I need to book another blood test to see if its failing even more than it was 6 months ago

I don’t think this is a thing, no. Like I don’t think there are rules of grammar for commas around using them for added emphasis but using less than strictly formal grammar does convey tone. So like “Say pal, …” and “Say, pal, …” do convey different tones because of how we tend to read commas (as breaks in speech), but the purpose of commas there is not rhetorical.
