how do you mean?

Throwing random ingredients into a big pot is easy. The issue is how to make the soup edible. Then there is the matter of taste; some people can handle the weirdest tastes I can imagine, whereas most people prefer a soup with… diluted tastes. Not too strong to stomach, not too bland to drink. For them, it is “just right”.

But I cook to make myself happy. Making my customers happy remains to be my secondary priority. All “I” need to do… is ensure that my first priority doesn’t clash with my second priority.

Well then, what dishes can I learn from this recipe book?

…never mind. It was a nonsensical rambling.

you asked for our opinions then say nevermind

since it doesn’t really affect me all that much however long they need. it’s their personal struggle, not mine

Transparency.
Clarity.
Agency.
Responsibility.

…? Ah. I have already talked about this before.

…rather than going against the flow, for once I’ll try going with it. I want to see, what my “best behavior” really will bring me.

However, I would need more than just promises. I need inspiration. I need guidance. Standard recipes will not do for me. I need… a theme.

Ah… I had tackled not a similar topic before, but the same topic instead.

Predictability. Cohesion. Effectiveness. Transparency. Reactability. Awareness.

. . .
It is so… boring.

Despite the many levels of errors in Deck of Cards, I genuinely enjoyed the constant back and forth in the use of Gladiator and Anti-Gladiator.

I am not going to use it again in the future, but the unpredictability of those occurrences was part of what made me enjoy hosting that game.

What can the players predict from my games? What have they already seen, and what have they never seen before? What do the abilities I present do? Will they reveal those information– Of course they will, so how should I design a setup that takes mass-claims to account? How will they react to the actions that will transpire? How do I ensure they are aware of what actions would transpire?

. . .
I don’t… take my time, thinking about all that technical stuff. My sense of balance will come on its own, from my experiences– from my failures as a host. I don’t cook following a recipe book. I cook by taking inspirations from the recipe book, and making my own dish, my way.

C.I.A.
Confidentiality.
Integrity.
Accessibility.

The first two can be done in Discourse, but accessibility is more difficult. I don’t want to keep adding and removing players from PMs, and I dislike the fact that the log shows which players had access to the channel. In this case, using Discord would be easier, but… I feel like the best use of Discord would be if everyone has access to it, rather than a select few.

. . .
Actually, didn’t I tackle this aspect in April Showers The Third, by using a role that temporarily disconnects their targets from all outside-game communications? I might want to bring that role back some time in the future if I were to remember this monologue…

Accessible connection
Private disruption
…whispers? Those have limited content, but any PMs in FoL’s Discourse have firm integrity. To ensure minute changes are unseen, Discord is still preferable.

. . .
What form should the fall of integrity take? Clearly a player (i.e., Mafia) ought to desire for others’ communication to fail, but how? Direct interception is unfeasible, so the realistic option would be disruption by arbitrary judgement.
