oh no thats a secret third category. found that out when i got broken up and blocked by someone i thought i was alright friends with. i did not really understand what a relationship was for most of my teens and as a result alot of nonsense happened. I shant go into details on Public Forum. unfortunately further reading is mostly me in nerdcord

ill be real i found it exceptionally hilarious because they had vanished for 3 months prior and then after appearing again blew up at me for being distant before revealing we were dating. In hindsight something was probably going on there

There is no comprehensive way to tackle all the different ways autism can and will manifest in a person. My hope was to raise awareness of common symptoms and how they may impact the game - as well as provide some general advice for approaching specific cases. I tried my best to be all inclusive, though my blindspots have been pointed out by others in the responses. Tana recently added that they actually have the inverse problem irt to turbos and mashes vs longform games - something I did not consider (though I believe Darker handled the topic far better than my brief mention of it).
I am glad to see people correct my blindspots. I do however believe that I avoided presenting symptoms/traits as universal, and adding qualifications and caveats as necessary while making the main message about how the most important step is to take active steps to communicate about these issues.

Okay to be fair about my specific situation here so there isn’t a false impression, the whole collar person thing was not a case of me feeling I was getting genuinely serious with somebody and then me breaking up with them after 2 months. I was very much still considering myself in the “getting to know them” stage until basically right before they broke up with me (which is why it sucked so bad, they had like two months to say “hey I don’t think this is gonna work out” and they didn’t do so until I was finally comfortable and like starting to consider things serious), and I specifically said I wanted to take things slow because I had just gotten out of a long-term relationship and didn’t want to rush anything
And this third “relationship” is benguinedparbecue jumping the gun, we specifically are not dating on account of it’s #toosoon and we would like to get to know each other more and so on and so forth.
We don’t need to like Continue This Discussion it’s just that if my entire personal life is going to be Fortress of Lies entertainment I’d like there not to be falsehoods about it

i would’ve talked about how some of these are generally ineffective with certain people, and noted again that autistic people are very different and varied: especially given that some advice, like tone indicators, may make people feel upset because they think they’re being talked down to
