I’ve still never met anybody I knew online IRL, except for somebody who I previously knew online who happened to be in my orgo class, which I feel like doesn’t count because I didn’t seek to meet him online and neither of us initially knew who the other was

I’ve never like Planned a Meetup. Well I did plan one once but we didn’t follow through on it

I considered trying to stop by my longtime online friend’s to bring her like flowers and a condolences gift after her father passed but I didn’t want to stress her out or make things awkward and it was like an hour and a half drive and I was only in town for a weekend anyway

2022 - Mob Psycho 100 III
2023 - Magical Destroyers
2024 - Girls Band Cry
none of these were nominated for best opening at the Anime Awards in their respective years
2021 as a pretty standout year also had Re:Zero S2 Part 2 and Link Click, both of which are great but also were not nominated for the category xdd (at least Vivy was nommed but it was deffo not better than the three I named)
the awards for 2020 (technically the 2021 Anime Awards because it’s for shows from the previous year) were the last time I think the best one was in the running and even though Great Pretender lost it’s okay because BEASTARS is also fantastic (and to be honest I’m not sure which I prefer head to head)

We had just, like, seen each other in the same dorm Discord server a few days before, and then we happened to be in the same group in orgo. I knew his general description so I recognised him pretty quickly, but I wasn’t entirely sure, so I didn’t, mention it, and so we were hanging out for a couple hours before somebody verbally called me May and he was like “wait. From Flight Rising”
