it doesnt even prevent spamming it just kills people and needlessly restricts shooting targets people still do spam a lot

People kept wanting a slank/spamvig when we were designing in FAM6 and I didn’t end up including it b/c I just don’t like them that much, but I see the design incentive and I don’t think they’re actively bad, just not suuuper important to me.

I do think it’s bad for games when one person posts so much that they’re un-ISOable. It’s nice to be able to reasonably parse the entirety of one person’s content

heartwarming: after seeing how angry villagers got in fam6 when the last wolf remaining was a lost wolf, the anni wolfteam did everything in their power to make sure that wouldn’t be the case

actually speaking of spamvigs

a villager with a role that let them fakeclaim any role they wanted and Get that role for a cycle claimed, essentially, a spamvig d1 (vig a player in the top 10 posters)

on N1 all 10 of their targets were town and they shot the same player mafia were essentially strongman killing by bus driving with a random player

who happened to be the town dayvig

this is the story of how @Marshal got essentially vigged by town and strongmanned by mafia on N1 of anni

I did intentionally make sure the LWs weren’t entirely lost (imo they actually had a pretty cool dynamic if both lived to. night one.)

I think it does have a point when you go inhe OP “30- or 300+ posts is bad” and then implement mechanics to make sure your words aren’t empty, and I think that targeting restrictions on kills actually create interesting incentives to wolves to avoid them just shredding through their favorite SPKs.

I don’t really have a horse in the race of Spamvig Specifically b/c I think it’s not hte most interesting targeting restriction nor the most interesting incentive structure but the pieces are fine

i think i brought up the fam6 ogi role in wolfchat as just a better implementation

you’re creating a role that says “this can only target spks as wolf”

we genuinely asked whether the post that got mimi modkilled was ogi viggable, to which hosts had to say “no and also we’re working on it.” suffice to say i don’t think roles should be encouraging these kinds of conversations

or you know as town making it so the spam/slank cannot target anyone on the wolfteam

that sounds fine

it’s a mash a kill is gonna land in that pool 9/10 times anyway

it’s just a pointless restriction for the sake of pointless restrictions

and that was my POINT1

YOU MUFFIN

if youre an spk wolfteam wants dead they’re just gonna find another way to kill you if the spamvig cannot target you

The players with 300+ posts in FAM6 D1 were:

Jinrou
Linda
Kyubey
soweli
boredofboredom
Marshal
neil_the_eel
asherlark
mimi
Apocryphal

None were targeted by a wolf N1 kill.

i think i’m gonna tear your kidneys out
is that okay?

I think that the overlap between people 300+ posting and SPKs is not actually suuuper high especially if the SPKs are aware of the restriction and abide by the soft postcap

i don’t exactly think fam6 is the model wolfteam to be used for ideas of correct mechanical play
