byzantiumish is a peak joke so

and every time you need a joke you can do a cutaway gag to the hand of byzantium doing literally the exact same fucking thing

i fear for tol game but i also acknowledge that the true killer of worlds is the willowshore teahouse

LMAO

nah ill be honest im probably going to Try to participate especially if we can actually use foundry because i fucking suck at manual character sheets and tihs is like 85% of the reason i’m not activley doing whim. and by 85% i mean 15% but still

but frankly i do kind of think it’s probably a good thing to anticipate the potnetial of. Well

I’m not confident in this take but I feel like you want to stick Throne of Lies land somewhere in the River Kingdoms, ā€˜a random River Kingdom gets toppled by political violence’ is not a super uncommon thing to happen

classic revolutionary violence country is Galt but Galt definitely does not still have a king

also tbf the unseen don’t Know that there’s an evil king until they have to out themselves in endgame
it’s plausible that EK kind of just hates himself

Thanks Arete

this also explains why other countries aren’t that present – a River Kingdom collapsing is common enough that you don’t get a bunch of other countries immediately trying to capitalize on it (and they have no reason to expect that if they show up and take over it’ll really last)

possessor/reaper are probably some flavor of undead (reaper is close ish to a lich but I’m not sure the souls ~ phylactery conversion really works (disclaimer: idk how liches work in 2e))

Sorcerer is just straightforwardly a sorcerer I think. Probably they’re trying to become a lich or something and that’s why they want to kill everyone? But you could alternatively write them as wanting to conquer the country for themself and wanting everyone* in court out of their way

I have spent a looot of time in the past theorycrafting ttrpg versions of the tol classes

yea
possessor is probably the most unique given the fact that it basically doesn’t like. have a form outside of the guys it possesses?

okay i dont know much about this kind of thing but it feels like a guy that literally entirely takes over their victim and LEAVES THEM DEAD EVEN AFTER BEING BANISHED is kinda relatively unique among possessions

realistically its closer to a bodyswap thign but

in pf2e I don’t thiiiink there’s player accessible body hopping magic

the cult is presumably a cult of two Evil gods (or god-ish things like demon lords). it being a cult of two is kind of interesting, a lot of Evil gods are kind of terrible at working with each other

oh
i was under the impression Mithras was just kind of a puppet god
but yea fair

you’re looking for magic jar in 3.5/5/pf1

are you looking for more of a CE or LE flavor for your cult? I think there are valid reads either way

and do you want the gods* involved to be relatively prominent or relatively not that prominent
