I mean yes I’m sure in America they are
my point is that is America
That one local garage I just checked has a markup of 21% for a hybrid service

like an automatic transmission? are y’all still really mostly on manual over there?

that’s not my point
the point is that automatic gearboxes are rare in the UK, which means demand for automatic servicing & repairs is rare in the UK, which means that it’s more expensive to service an automatic gearbox

more proof you live in a backwards land

a very significant portion of our cars are manual gearbox
getting an automatic only license marks up your insurance tons as well because there’s a presumption you’re a worse driver by the insurance since you didn’t get qualified on manual

oh that’s dumb as hell

yes
you will get charged less insurance for driving the exact same car with the exact same experience on a manual license than an automatic license
lmao

what I will say is the only automatic car I have ever seen in my life was a £90,000 ford on display in a Glasgow official ford showroom that also had a very very cool manual motorbike-style shifter as well so it was like it had a hybrid gearbox
at least I think it was a manual shifter?

Almost all cars are manual in europe

My parents were looking to help me practice driving in an automatic car before my driving courses but they found nobody who owns one. I didnt wanna learn manual because i knew i was terrible. I failed my driving exams in the only 2 instructors in my city who offered an automatic car. And they yelled at me and made me cry. So i gave up on driving because if i had to continue i had to either endure their yelling and cussing or i had to try to learn manual after already being terrible with automatic

how is driving automatic hard. you literally don’t have to touch it once you’re on the road, and it’s just parking that you deal with changing gears and that’s mostly just putting it back into park

Have you seen the thin european city roads filled with pot holes and barely enough space to squeeze in? They werent designed for cars like american ones
