The roads are a lot more complicated
learning how to drive manual is almost a waste of time in the US unless youāre really want to drive manual for fun or have some other particular need to.
how does this affect the transmission
it doesnāt? you asked how tutuu found it hard to drive an automatic and the answer is that the roads are complicated
You already need to juggle dodging pot holes and squeezing centimeters away from breaking off someoneās side mirror. If you need to multitask manually changing gear with one hand and the transmission pedal (not sure the name) with one foot youāre increasing the things you need to multitask successfully to drive smoothly
right, but we were talking about automatic vs manual transmission, and I was curious why that mattered regarding tutuuās driving ability. was she just saying she sucked when it was only vaguely relevant to the conversation
that is how I understood it
the clutch
plz donāt think like this though. I thought the exact same thing and it never stopped until I had somehow passed without any faults despite the fact throughout the entire time I was being tested I kept saying I had failed for literally anything I did
also @tutuu I will let you know I have literally forgotten where I was turning mid roundabout MULTIPLE TIMES before and Iāve got my license so Iām sure youāll be fine
I have a lot more stories than that as well Iāll have to think of them
forgot whether I was going straight ahead or turning left so I just⦠drifted into the middle of both exits as if that is a legal and valid move to do until my instructor was like wtf??
Iād encourage you to give manual a go. itās difficult to begin with but once youāve got the hang of the gears itās not so horrific as you might think
I dont think I know any woman in my personal life who drives. Some passed the test and got a license but didnāt drive after. There is a heavy cultural emphasis that itās a manās job to be the driver. But I live in a provincial city. Now that I remember it Iāve seen a lot of woman drivers in the bigger cities. Maybe itās more normal there
OH I remember something I just did like a few days ago
In order to fix my dreadful parking I needed to put my car in reverse so I had put it into reverse⦠without pressing down the clutch and the nastiest gear grinding sound came out of my carās gearbox
it was not very happy Iāll tell you that much
and then when I went to move off again I forgot I had the parking brake on
Thanks
Im too anxious to try again, I have a lot of general problems with anxiety. But I appreciate the words
Iāve driven a solid block without releasing ny parking brake
1/10 would not recommend
OH another thing i forgot about
Iāve driven home at night with absolutely no lights on
when I climbed into the car I mustāve hit my lights off of auto and onto off. I have no idea why its so easily designed to do that. I was wondering why I literally couldnāt see fuck all out the back window when reversing
why do they make it so easy to forget to turn your headlights on
Even now (about 5 years later) i still panic and randomly check my carās parking brake when Iām driving
I donāt know!! My mum was talking about that because the cars sheās had before donāt have auto lights and she has to manually turn them on every time, but mine are on auto and theyāre so easy to knock off.
My mum does this about first gear. Sheāll double check every time when sheās about to move off the car is in first gear by popping it into neutral and then back into first
I am glad I am done with āhomeroomā / āsocial skillsā class anymore because itās either like ādonāt use social media (in the sense of typical high schooler who has accounts associated with their name that they use to interact with their friends). instead you should be advancing your career.ā or itās like āwrite a letter of gratitude to yourselfā and there are just too many things going on for me to be able to do that so i just sit there (it is thankfully not graded)
