It is funny to me how much I love languages yet I am chronically monolingual
(I cannot put in the proper effort to actually learn a language (I do not study every day))

I know A1 French and Italian. I believe if you tap into your curiosity and your feeling of “I can do it” you can get motivated for it.

They really become fun when you know what the rules are

(I think part of the problem is also just. All I have to keep me going is passion. And passion is a fickle beast. I don’t have the need to learn another language that many others do.)
(And the language that actually interests me to learn is one of the hardest languages for a native English speaker to learn :joy_cat: (Japanese))

Though

Really “difficulty” in language learning is just.

Which languages take the longest to learn due to being massively different from one’s source language.

The only reason Spanish or French or German or Dutch are “easy” to learn as an English speaker is due to linguistic closeness and shared vocab and or grammar.

Io so francese (?) e italiano un po. Io credo cuo (?) si tu deveni (?) curioso (?) e tu sensi (?) povverio (?), tu devenai (?) motivatio

Je connais le francais et le italien un peu. Je crois que si tu devoirais (?) curious et tu sens le pouvoir a le apprender, tu peux devenirais motivatee.

With that said my italian decayed horribly

Devoir means an obligation. The verb it’s deviendras not devenirais as that’s probably italian verb end actually
