i just watched a video one time. take me with a grain of salt

well they do use a lot of money

there is a balance between how much you want to contribute to your education specifically vs other college finances

(if they are nonprofit they SHOULD be using it all for the college but revenue is generated towards college itself… although what each college prioritizes outside of education is a diff story)

fwiw student loans are generally decently well-regulated and depending on the interest rate you have it may actually make more sense to intentionally keep it than to pay it off (idk what student loan interest rates are nowadays, but like if your student loan has a 3% interest rate then if you can grow your money at 4% elsewhere you’re better off in the long run keeping the debt than you would be paying it down)

do note however that market volatility slash the impending collapse of american hegemony might make finding somewhere where you can confidently outpace interest challenging and like it’s rarely going to be bad to pay off debts so I wouldn’t treat that as gospel unless ur interest rate is really low
