Rules

  • The Global Rules apply to this game and will be enforced if needed Global Rules.
  • The Forum Game Rules also apply to this game Forum Game Rules.
  • This is a no-alt game.
  • Players are reminded to read their rolecard thoroughly, and won’t be allowed to post or vote until they indicate to the hosts they have read their rolecard.

Gameplay

  • The game pits the King and Guards versus the Assassins.
  • This is any open setup with 9 Guards, 1 King and 2 Assassins.
  • The game is nightless with days lasting 24 hours.
  • There will a rest period of 24 hours after each 48 day hours.
  • The King and Guards are on the same team. The Guards all know who the King is, yet the King only knows their alignment.
  • The Assassins have a private chat, which is open every day and during rest hours.
  • The Assassins have 1 kill each, they must PM the hosts on who they are targeting if they are eliminated.

Elimination Rules

  • Eliminations will be majority and plurality.
  • Votes for no elimination won’t be considered valid.
  • Majority immediately ends the day any time it is reached.
  • If the Assassin/s is eliminated, they kill their last selected target.
  • If the Assassin/s elect to use their kill early, they are also eliminated at the same time as their target.
  • Upon elimination, full flips will be provided. All flips are true.

Win Conditions

  • The King and Guards win together if the King survives both Assassins’s kill attempts, and the Assassins are dead.
  • The Assassin/s wins if they successfully kill the King. If the Assassin/s are dead and they manage to kill the King, the Assassins still wins even in death.
  • The Assassin/s also wins if there are only 2 players alive, including the Assassin.

Hello [Player Name]! You are a Guard.
You know that [Player] is the King.
Your win condition is to ensure the King survives the Assassin’s kill.
You don’t know who your fellow guards are.

Assassin
Hello [Player Name]!, You are the Assassin.
You can submit who dies upon your death as many times as you want, while you live.
Your fellow Assassin is [Player Name]. You share a private chat with your fellow Assassin.
You have 1 kill which will be activated upon your death. You can use this kill any time you are alive.
Your win condition is to kill the King, regardless if you survive or not.

Yes, but the last Assassins in the Palace had everyone agreeing not to do that.

I was reluctant to open signups, because the last time I did that things got ugly.

Lets be honest, knowing site culture there’s very little chance the optimal strategy for this setup is used.

in Avalon merlin knows the evils, but the rest of town doesn’t know Merlin
Here the King doesn’t know the evils, but the rest of the town knows the king
in both games the king/merlin has to remain hidden
