2. this one is less of a quotes thing and more of an evaluation of magnus’s play as a whole. neon described it pretty well, and i more or less said what i want to say here earlier, so i’ll just quote those to save time

Magnus however is planting the seeds in Zorvos mind, he’s on the sideline bouncing off Zorvos paranoia to get Zorvo to connect Prisma to Arete. He’s lightly fueling the fires of the tunnel but he’s struggling to put arguments together that make sense and people are picking up on it.

He was very reachy trying to tie Prisma into wolf Arete worlds early by biting Zorvos “oh coaching” argument. Which is an objectively bad take imo.

If Prisma is woof they ask most of these questions in woof chat. Sure it’s possible that their team told them to go play dumb in thread but i think its unlikely this is just a lost townie being lost and townie and Magnus is pushing the seeds of doubt right down Zorvos tunnel.

i think zorvo’s pushes on arete and prisma (while the reasoning is incredibly dubious) show a level of passable conviction and other posts he’s made bloating about his accuracy read as though he genuinely believes what he’s saying

magnus on the other hand has been, as neon put it, validating seth’s incoherent nonsense in a way that lands seth the blame for his antics. yes, may and magnus, it is incoherent. as someone without TMI, who does not know the alignment of players in this game, i cannot read seth’s posts and follow his reasoning nor be convinced on his reads - when they are clearly based entirely on mistruths, strawmans or misrepresentations. i don’t care what your experience with seth is. frankly, if you’ve found his reads to be accurate then you have not played enough games with him. the entire game is telling you it is incoherent because it is! and you pretending it’s not, and trying to enable him, and acting like his reasons are convincing, while letting him burn the house down, is why i think you two are likely to be mafia

i can buy that people are willing to entertain stuff they don’t necessarily believe in, both to test the validity of ideas and gauge reactions i cannot, however, buy that a villager plays the entire day phase in this way, without making their own stances clear and trying to co-operate with others on where they believe their reads to be wrong

Pushing ungenuine narratives as town is awesome and owns. I have a neutral read on Magnus, but throwing around ideas and seeing what sticks and how people react is NAI.

but this is not what magnus has been doing, is it? where has he gauged arete’s (or anyone else’s) response to him jumping on their wagon with seth? where has he gauged anyone’s response to him entertaining seth’s prisma/arete w/w read? what he’s been doing has not been to gauge reactions, or investigate responses. it’s been to piggyback on the reads of others while taking very little responsibility for his own actions

the tl;dr is, I think magnus has been overly concerned with validating the reads of others and adding fuelling those pushes in a much less believable way than the originators of those reads, to test the waters with what he can feasibly push. this can be verified by the simple test of (before i asked him to do so, twice) trying to find out if it was clear who he actually wanted to kill at eod. and before he answered this, it was extremely ambiguous, because the majority of his play today has been reliant on validating seth’s (in my opinion, incorrect) reads. not being able to get a clear idea of who someone would actually want dead at eod from reading their posts is an extremely effective scum tell, because wolves are often less committed to their reads generally

Arctic came into the thread wallposting and wishing to skip RVS. Arctic’s posts are either questioning other people on their read or commentary outside of voting May (a read he doesn’t bring up much later), playing cautiously with his reads until he says Prisma’s self-contradiction is villagery (disputed), talks about the possibility of Otter being Mafia but doesn’t share his thoughts on whether he thinks so… the first thing that stands out is his analysis of Neon’s last wolfgame VC, which he uses to open a read on Neon (townlean) and comment how wolves can pile on one wagon or whatever.

can you explain what you found wolfy about Any of this
(i also don’t really feel like this is a genuine evaluation of my posts up to this point because you proceed to say my content is just questions/commentary except for x, y, z, and you proceed to list a bunch of non-commentary things so ??)

if your definition of a read is a clear cut “x is town” and “y is mafia” then maybe, but i’m not sure why you expect me to have clear cut reads less than 24 hours into day 1. before this point i had pointed out tells from one or two posts which is sufficient for that stage in the game, and yet you don’t want to acknowledge that these are still posts that contribute to solving, so why?

i did, in fact, talk about may again. multiple times, even! here are my posts talking about may: [3 quotes of me talking about May]

and if you are going to argue that you were talking about posts before these ones, then you are quite literally scumreading me for not talking about someone within 1-2 hours of me last mentioning them (because before today i was only in the thread for a few hours after the game started), which is like. laughably bad, for obvious reasons!

you can read this whole section around post 458 if you are interested in getting the entire picture, but this is supposed to be a case, not an iso so i don’t want to bloat this. the jist of it is that magnus was reaching for reasons to justify a scumread on me, by his own admission in this post:

which like. is not how a villager plays? it’s almost TWTBAW, and i can understand wanting to townread the transparency he has in this post about literally just making stuff up. but when it comes to it, the amount of back and forths magnus had with me and arete clearly indicate that he was more invested in the read than just “seeing what sticks” because his reasons for scumreading me were disputed several times, and he only came out with this post after his reasons had been demonstrably disproven (see this post where magnus was very blatantly ascribing motivations to my post to justify a scumread). he had an agenda to scumread me, and it very clearly went much further than just seeing what sticks
