nah the flashy unis win
if it was a stem job first impression (social?) probably less important than academical achievement
ye fair
stem jobs moment
then again this is the guy who also thinks that going on a mission is a quality that employers should seek
so
note, however. that flashy university does not have to equal ivy or a uni where you have to take out a mortgage to go to. there are a lot of prestigious state schools out there (albeit not in utah, unless you consider BYU a different kind of prestigious)
er
you get the idea
ye fair
It’s pre-interview picking.
(Most Employers don’t call in all applicant for interview.)
i know
but yeah i didnt realize someone meant that
also (at least in stem) most employers don’t even actually look at your resume. gets scanned for buzzwords and maybe if you’re lucky you end up in the shortlist of resumes they actually look at
yeah ok fair

oh for context going on a mission is a mormon thing
Also a good photo helps a lot. (At least in my country.)
I got a lot more call for interview after I submit my CV with a photo.
The thing is usually the meetings are via zoom or something, and its not the guy interviewing you that usually hires you
Its usually some boss who doesnt know shit and who is the type of person to be impressed by university name or having a math degree as 2nd major
yeah that sounds accurate
does having a math degree as a second major make people impressed
A lot
