anyways imo ur algo underrates beancat p heavily

in the hands of real players i think she’s the second best in the game most likely

resistances are kinda fake most of the time so being neutral to almost everything defensively is great and being supereffective to most things offensively is also great

lots of good potential there to be a big threat if utilized well

that aside I think a lot of the top placement lines up exactly with my own conclusions

We love how tutuu ended up statistically the worst

well if the meta was polarizing enough to dip some of them below the usage threshold that might not be true

what do you mean

every FoLermon is used on a team

….no. it’s 12.5% (less than that if you account for unrevealed mons in non-team preview metas not counting for usage).

and if folermon smogon actually existed multiple people would be able to use the same folermon and the worst ones would accordingly drop

LFG i have advantage against the tutuu mon. my revenge is complete

I’d argue that resistances are incredibly important.

The meta is currently Furries: the only thing that resists a Furry are Straights, but because of the prevalence of Gay types, that check on Furries is removed, enabling them to run wild. This is why something like Squirrel - a character that just has Furry attacks - is a top-tier pick.

Additionally, a lot of characters in this game run Smug type attacks, and because of the aforementioned prevalence of Furries, Troll type characters are much weaker and are thus unable to be a good counter. This is why Arctic is up there.

lol is the intersection of all of this. They can resist Furries without being weak to Gay types, they can hit a large swath of Gay types with a Homophobic attack, and they can hit a good section of Smug types with their Troll coverage.

Sorry for the delay; was in class.

Fundamentally, that’s why I wanted to add a Nerd type: it serves as a secondary check to Furries and enables Troll types to actually serve as a counter to Smug type characters.
The long-term solution is “remove some Furry characters” to prevent them from being more centralizing, but that’s hard to do.

The issue is that almost ever FoLermon has two attacks of different types, and so hitting for neutral is almost always possible because each FoLermon has only one weakness (the ones with two weaknesses are by and large bad)

ie the defensive benefit of having a resistance is generally pretty small

even when describing why resistances are important you call out Furry as the winner because few things resist them, not because their resistance to troll matters

I support the banning of users that have a Folermon ruining the meta

so when I say resistances are kind of fake I mean that defensively being resistant to a given type is unlikely to matter a ton in a vacuum

it’s better to be resistant to a very common attacking type like furry or gay but fundamentally most mons can still hit you for neutral damage anyways

lol and orange might be the only two characters in the game whose resistance actually matters all that much lmao

actually make that just lol really because orange doesn’t even have a homophobic attack
