…actually, I forgot why we killed you at N2.
Hang on, lemme check.
…ah. It was because you were the one who voted Skrim last. That made me think you’d gain a lot of towncred, so I had to remove you, and your death also doubles as a doc dodge since I expect Litten/spooky to be protected.
I feel like not allowing PRs to use whispers really limits their early-game utility for both town and wolves and I don’t think giving PRs the ability to whisper would make things too townsided as they still have to be careful about claiming to the wrong person. Plus, an extension to the amount of characters you can use (500 maybe) would be nice. Also, I think there should be some kind of limit to the protection (for instance, prevent people from voting the same person twice in a row or give the wolves a one-time strongman ability (e.g. Pistachio - If every living wolf chooses this flavor, they will be able to break through protection with their kill but can only do this once per game). The main issue is that it can lead to situations where going into the night with F3 can lead to a coinflip for the last wolf, though that didn’t happen this game since one of the townies trusted said last wolf over their remaining teammate).
namely: If a wolf claims to have protected Spooky, and they don’t yet know other player’s actions, that’s rather risky, because its possible that means there’s enough claimed votes on Spooky where someone claiming to have protected them has to be lying (barring coffee)
Also, in the situation of “wolf didn’t use coffee and all town claim truthfully”, the wolf can always avoid mech clearing anyone by claiming their true action (even if no one else has claimed yet)
yeah I realized this and I thought it would be better for everyone to message me their protections until I realized herding cats was easier and I said nothing
Corroborating that maybe I just didn’t think about the setup much but it felt like, kinda pointless to whisper/I didn’t see a way to get a lot of value out of it as is
I concur, but that raises the issue of “how does anyone know who was protected last night?”
Because I thought the intent was to hide that very information to begin with when this setup was being designed.
Yeah… NGL that gimmick is rather unusable. It never benefits the Mafia.
Eh. “People” (e.g. Oricorio and Litten) keep saying it is beneficial and that the mechanic can be used to coordinate, but I -just like you- don’t see the value in using them.
Even in this game, I used it for fun (i.e., D5 bribery), got one from Chomps to move my vote (even though votes were locked), and the last one could have been very important… had I not been Mafia.
Litten already had the correct approach IYAM. He had correctly predicted the WCS where spooky used Strawberry on Litten, and came to the correct conclusion that -unless Coffee was involved- everyone but BradLand was lying about their protection votes.
To elaborate more on, litten knowing better, I actually suck a lot qt making decisions. I make better decisions when the decisions are simple (if you ever see me play in lylo, you would see what I mean). Every time I ever looked at Chomp and saw town I looked at Zone and then also saw town. And then I looked at aleph.
I asked you for your opinion on who to wagon to see if I like your suggestions. You said Kel and I was like no mentally, that wasn’t the right decision, and that caused my paralysis that Rod
