・✫・Madoka Magica Mafia!・✫・ -- Game Over -- Homura & Madoka Win

I think this was a really interesting setup. I admit I wasn’t fully aware it was this level of bastard and at the beginning I was a bit baffled but letting players figure out the slow reveal of how the setup logically worked was really fun.

it’s kind of absurd you almost pulled this off in addition to lol’s “redcheck”

i literally fucking predicted that lol would have used that as an excuse when the fact that I was town was inevitably revealed

fwiw this is probably correct, but i do think it should have a lot more limitations
i designed a similar time loop game a while back that never got ran but it had a Mafia Eraser that erased someone who had died the previous cycle, permanently killing them

Why should it? What would restricting it to players who previously died, or anything of the like, do for the game? It does not make the game any more interesting for the players who are on its receiving end. It is equally frustrating no matter conditions what happened to you. The mafia already pay a price for using the silencer: they risk being caught by the Tracker, one of the only possible role-based redchecks in the game, and they out the existence of the Silencer.

An intentional design restriction I placed this game is that each non-Witch role should be a single word: Silencer, Ninja, Watcher, Bodyguard, et cetera. Intentionally, the game creates the impression of a very “standard”, genre-typical experience, then subverts it for the third “episode”, in order to parallel the structure of Madoka Magica.

I did not have any particular interest in designing particularly restricted or “weird” roles for the game, nor did I want to carry anything across resets except for the mafia’s knowledge and abilities. I feel the Silencer did its job – not the most pleasant job, and I understand the sacrifice made on game experience, but its job nonetheless.

A game where the wolves could not kill or silence any voices whatsoever would not be enjoyable for them.

I have no idea how so many villagers could’ve been acting so wolfy as to try to executw someone that we knew wasn’t mafia here. I don’t even have words. Also, I didn’t see any anticlaim.

I’m sorry too Hippo. I was genuinely convinced you were wolf here. Instead, you were right about Orange and lol really was thewolf between him and Chomps.

I still don’t know how Willow almost got executed D1 of the second loop.

Agreed.
