my goal by the end of this campaign is that i will have figured out which real world location inspired brevoy from scratch
based off looking at a map i can only really rule out Antarctica, Oceania, and probably South America even those might not be correct to rule out if the region shape varies wildly.
my main thought is this is in europe or the very top of africa thus far, europe mainly because it Is the fantasy setting and it’d make sense location wise if africa is below it but… i know next to nothing about how accurate the map would be. i originally thought it was africa and this was like. Sudan. but i’m not feeling the guess that much anymore after exploring a bit more.

the region where “wall of heaven” is seems like it’d be eastern asian based off the names
given it’s also the most detailed region in terms of like. names and populations and not being pretty much blank colours of yellow/green/brown my europe theory is growing strongerdue to this
i guess my main thing next is. figuring out if it’s a specific actual region or just. Medieval Europey
don’t forget to account for the fact that “what country/ies, if any, did Paizo model Brevoy on” and “what country/ies, if any, is Arete using to fill in worldbuilding details that aren’t canonically specified” may or may not be the same question
