[RP] Play-By-Post Pathfinder

You spot a couple, yes. First of all, there’s a group of two people playing cards, of which one is looking around furtively with occasional glances back towards the counter. There’s also a woman eating dinner who keeps nibbling at her nails and then intentionally moving her hand away; she seems particularly concerned about the weapons some people are carrying (not anything unusual, mostly knives), though for whatever reason she’s looking more at other people’s regular knives than at your much more dangerous weapons.

Drakor carefully positioned himself along the wall where he could keep an eye on both of them, then began casually watching the nibbler.

“Wow, that would be amazing! Maybe they’ll finally make some actual progress!”

“They are making progress! They pushed back Khorramzadeh, didn’t they?”

“That’s not progress, that’s just not losing.”

“Goodness, I hope that’s true! You know, I heard there was a brimorak that flew clean across the Lake of Mists and Veils, burned down ten villages in the north before someone caught them.”

“Don’t be silly, brimoraks can’t fly.”

(at the same time as the second person:) “Don’t be silly, brimoraks aren’t real.”

“I say, if Mendev can’t handle its own demon problems, maybe His Majesty should take his lands under his control. If they’re not doing their job, it could put the whole planet at risk.”

“With what navy, idiot?”

“Wow, that’s so cool! Do you think I could learn to do that someday?”

His face goes through various stages to disbelief.

“Don’t count yourself out! I would recommend training substantially and gaining combat experience, though!”

Eventually, Wanderer will go to sleep.

Arius will approach this group and join them –but before he does so, he will cast Detect Magic in the tavern’s general vicinity.

At the point when you arrive in the tavern, there are only the magic auras you’d expect to see from you and your companions. (Though now that you’ve picked up some magic items, there are a few more auras, each corresponding to one of the new items.)

One of them gives you a nervous look. “Hey there, stranger! We’re just playing a friendly game of cards. You can’t join. Not that we’re hiding anything, because we aren’t!”

“What my friend means to say,” says the other one, “is that we’re halfway through a game, and it’s not the sort we can just deal you in for. But if you’d like to join us once we’re done, that’s perfectly fine.”

(Drakor, the first one here is the one who’s been looking nervously around the room)

Zelsh yawned a bit as he went to bed once they reached the tavern too. Sleepy half-orc was sleepy.

After getting carried away sizing up a new project, Paprika arrives at the tavern, distinctly not late (as she never specified what time she would be there in the first place).

She looks around for a member of the party who is free and still awake.

Canary is looking around for something. She seems needlessly stressed.

Paprika quietly steps up behind Canary, then speaks slightly more loudly than her ordinary tone.

“May I help you?”

I fall to the floor in shock, and yelp.

I look up at my attacker.

In turn, Paprika looks down at Canary. She has her eyebrows raised. She smiles a little.

“Is there something you need assistance with?”

I rapidly shake my head.

Please just leave please just leave.

“You seemed like you were looking for something.” Head tilt. “I’m part of your party now, you know. Wanderer said as much. You’ll have to get used to me being around.”

“Do you need something translated into Kelish? Elven? Draconic? Something mended? Something sewn? A mystery solved?”

…

Unlike the other members of “Her Party”, the girl- now with a strangely neutral expression - isn’t carrying any sort of equipment that wouldve been given by a superior or anyone with good funding who seemingly supplied the rest of the group.
