“Just as long as you don’t hurt yourself with it.”

[you have obtained a masterwork spring blade!]

“You going to want to be fitted for a breastplate, or would you rather stick with something lighter?”

I quickly-as respectfully as quickly can go, reach for the… sword pole thingy. Drakor first looked at.

(the falchion)

“I prefer light armor,” Drakor replied. “Not that I’m complaining-” he quickly added. “But if you have anything lighter than a breastplate I would like that.”

The weapon’s quality is… kind of lost on you. You’re not used to using a weapon like this, and its uneven weight (notably heavier than your dagger) makes it hard for you to use it effectively.

Canary holds it like an idiot and rushes to signal that she wants it, sort of forgetting that she also wanted to see crossbows.

He looks you over, assessing your general build. “A chain shirt might be good, then. It’ll let you get some metal between you and anything that wants to eat you without being quite so heavy.”

“Hey, be careful with that! I don’t want you cutting yourself too!”

Drakor nodded. “Much obliged.”

He can direct you to the armorer! The armorer wants to make some adjustments to ensure that it fits you properly, but since he’s starting from a preexisting chain shirt and adjusting it to match your body, rather than crafting one from scratch, the amount of time will be measured in hours.

It is visibly clear Canary does not know what she’s doing, and thusly, she tries to carry it as safely as possible. To. Draw less attention.

And make him think we’re only largely incompetent.

…I don’t really know what we’re supposed to do after getting a weapon - stand around… hope I don’t look… that stupid?

Drakor followed to the armorer.

(gonna sleep soon, but I think this is a good stopping point for him)

(@atlas if canary wants to swap the falchion for something more usable consider it done)

“…Maybe we can get you something…” Simpler. Lighter. “…more suited to you. What weapons do you have the most experience with?”

(she’s keeping the flachion because she’s hoping Drakor can make some use of it. because she feels bad for crimes she didn’t commit.)

(I’m fine to exit now too)

“I-…”

I breathe in. I need to talk against someone. For someone else. And out. “…Can. Do with this. Thank you.”

“…or you can stick with that,” he adds hastily, seeing the expression on your face, although you can hear the skepticism in his voice. “You going to be wanting armor too?"

I shake my head.

“…I’m sorry.” I add. Because I’m bugging him and making his job harder.

He shrugs. “Suit yourself. …His Lordship’s not going to be happy if we let you get yourself killed, though, so if you’re some kind of sword-mage, maybe have a chat with Kerra before you go?”
