He grins at you. “Glad to see it’s a good match. Will you be wanting to get fitted for armor, too?”
(Thanks and could you handle that? A bit busy at the moment.)
“Yes please.” Zelsh replied pleasantly with a nod of his hesd.
(yep, done)
“Oh, that sounds–” Just before Arius could finish his sentence, he takes a glimpse of something at the armory. “…right.”
Though he knows it is rude to not face one’s conversation partner, Arius can’t help but be distracted by something. He looks back and forth between the quartermaster and the armory, haphazardly grasping for short breaths of air, before ending up abruptly with: “Pardon me, for a moment.”
He speedwalks back to the armory, and asks the master-at-arms: “Pardon my rudeness, but would it be possible to pick something from both quarters? I am willing to part with my secondary weapon and coins if I have to, but I can’t help but be mesmerized by the armor over there.”
Arius then cocks his head at the Chain Shirt.
(Thanks. ^_^)
In that case, you can also meet the armorer! The armorer gives your outfit a once over. “Will you be getting fitted for a breastplate, then?”
“A breastplate would do just fine.” Zelsh replied with a nod of his head.
“Sure, that shouldn’t be a problem.”
“As long as you’re not picking up anything too pricy,” Kerra chimes in.
From the expression on the master-at-arms’s face, he’d have preferred to leave that as subtext. “In any case, if you think a chain shirt will leave you with more maneuverability, that should be doable. And no need to give up your weapon, either.”
Then the armorer will start taking your measurements as well! He’ll be starting with a pre-existing breastplate and adjusting it to your size, rather than forging it entirely from scratch, but the process of making the adjustments will still take a few hours. As he works on you, he makes conversation:
“Say, how long have you been using that shield?”
“Hmmm, about 5 years now. Why do you ask?” Zelsh asked curiously while his measurements were being taken.
“Thank you very much!” Arius bows down, and trades off his Scale Mail for the Chain Shirt.
[…]
Back at the other room, Arius reinitiates his talk with the quartermaster. “Please pardon me for my rudeness from before. Something about this armor really… attracted me.”
((Slightly less defense for less penalties? Yeah, that’d attract anyone alright.))
“I would like to have the Wand of Magic Missile, and a Scroll of Ray of Enfeeblement, please.”
(Asking for more would surely incur an even higher debt from the baron than I already have… I hope this is within the boundaries of acceptable.)
“We got a couple new shields recently, and I’ve been looking for someone who can give them the care they deserve. You seem like you might be a good fit.”
He hoists up a shield, made of a glossy metal with a green tinge to it. “Living steel. Have you heard of it?”
(I’d like to make a knowledge check to see if Zelsh has heard of that. What would I roll?)
“Here you go.” She hands over the wand and the scroll.
[you have obtained 1 chain shirt, 1 wand of Magic Missile [CL 1] with 41 charges remaining, and 1 scroll of Ray of Enfeeblement]
Hmmm. I can see the argument for either K(Dungeoneering) or K(Nature), so I’ll allow you to use either (though remember, if you’re rolling knowledge untrained, your total result is capped at 10)
@discobot roll 1d20
-2 (Both are a -2 for Zelsh interestingly enough. Using knowledge Dungeoneering if you’re curious)

You’ve never heard of it. All you have is whatever guesses you feel like making from the name.
“Zelsh has never heard of living steel and Zelsh thinks that Zelsh would be a great fit.” Zelsh admitted as he admired the shield.
