[RP] Play-By-Post Pathfinder

(Are we time skipping to the following day?)

(I think Rika and Drakor are still talking, I don’t want to Cut Them Off if their players are Enjoying The Conversation)

Eventually, the tavern’s business winds down for the evening, and most people return to their homes. Despite the influx of travelers from Rostland you’ve seen over the past few days, you have the tavern largely to yourselves, save for the owner, and you’re eventually able to drift off to sleep on the floor.

The owner is up before dawn in the tavern’s kitchen, but traffic in the morning is low; most people are heading straight out to the fields, not stopping by the tavern at sunrise. Still, she does at least feed you breakfast before you depart, rolls of nut bread left over from the day before. The weather is fairly cool, and there are clouds gathering in the sky, but at least it’s not uncomfortably hot .

are you all still planning to go to Hazel Ford? does anyone want to declare they’re doing anything Specific, like Scouting Ahead?

Canary uncomfortably, and exhaustedly, gets up. She failed to sleep until way after everyone else was able to.

(i think so)

Your trip starts out fairly pleasant, even with the clouds. You’re seeing more people on the road today than you did yesterday, but most of them don’t seem particularly interested in conversation, save for one highly persistent man who’s parked himself on the outskirts of the fields around Talloak and is selling food and water to travelers for unusually high prices.

When you’ve been walking for around an hour, though, the weather takes a turn for the worse. You feel a drop of water on your wrist, another on your forearm, another on your neck. Some rainstorms start slowly, but not this one; after the first few droplets, the clouds break open, and water starts pouring down in sheets, soaking through your clothing and making it difficult to see more than a few paces ahead of you.

(I don’t think the caravan is covered? Geyde can correct me if I’m wrong)

Canary moves to cover herself from the storm, largely by using her jacket as a sheet for the rest of her body and crouching over in her seat.

It still gets her quite soaked, but it seems to at least spare a few parts of her body from the worst of it.

((Would it be possible for Arius to attempt learning Ray of Enfeeblement from the scroll? –also, would this attempt be interrupted by the rain?))

You can attempt to do so! The rain would interrupt it, but since it takes an hour to learn the spell and the rain starts up after about an hour, it ~works out time-wise if you start right away

Make a Spellcraft check (DC 21, can be bypassed with Read Magic) to decipher the scroll, and if it passes make another Spellcraft check (DC 16) to copy it into your spellbook (…I am choosing to declare that Kerra provided you with the ink for it when she gave you the scroll)

also, can I get perception checks from everyone? -4 penalty applies due to the rain

((What would I roll? I assume Spellcraft, but if it’s Knowledge-Arcana somehow, then Arius has +7 in both anyway.))

((I wonder what the DC is…))
((*checks roll20*))
((DC 16? With a +7, my odds should be better than a flat 50%.))
