[RP] Play-By-Post Pathfinder

Drakor’s PC, feeling lazy, had Drakor explain the situation without actually typing it out.

Wanderer will attempt to determine a way to navigate that avoids the Boggarts while making sure not to get the vehicle stuck in terrain.

(drakor has a pc too? i thought only you did.)

Canary nods. Though it’s raining and you can’t see it.

You recall fairly similar information to what Drakor did, but with a bit of a different emphasis. You’re less experienced with fighting, and thus you’re not confident in any particular assessment of this particular boggard’s skills (as distinct from skills common to all boggards). But you do remember quite a bit of information about boggard life cycles — boggards are born as tadpoles in large ponds, and a significant majority of them die in the tadpole stage rather than surviving to become adult boggards. They only join boggard clans once they’re capable of living on land.

Passing through the swamp itself without getting close enough to the boggard that it might attack you would be quite difficult, even without adding the additional constraint of needing to not get stuck in the mud. But if you backtracked a bit, there are a couple of alternative routes that might work, though both of them would come with additional complications. There’s an alternative route to the north, which would add about two hours to your trip for the diversion (normally it would be more like a single hour, but the mud is really slowing you down). You’d probably still make it to Hazel Ford today — if it weren’t for the rain, you were easily less than a day’s travel away — but if you encountered any other significant delays, it could be a problem. There’s also a separate alternative route a bit to the south, which would barely be out of your way at all; the main problem is that it intersects with one of the many little streams that feeds into the Stetven River, and your best guess based on the terrain is that this stream would be unusually prone to severe flooding, which might make it challenging to actually get across.

Wanderer considers the risk associated with getting into a fight with the Boggards.

The challenge I know against the challenge I don’t…

“Let’s go through.”

Wanderer will attempt to negotiate if the chance arises, but he views the Boggards from the group’s descriptions as kinda shitty.

(Should I roll to contest or no)

(are you trying to bluff them into thinking you haven’t spotted them?)

(Yeah sure let’s do that)
