Itâs not too hard to identify a few places, none perfect but each theoretically viable â the conditions arenât great for it, considering the rainstorm, but thereâs a hill nearby thatâs high enough that you could avoid water pooling while having enough trees that are forked in the right way to build a couple lean-tos. However, the ground would be quite wet, and youâd have to build it carefully if you wanted to keep out the rain. You also saw a cave not far from where you currently are, and it didnât look like it was that wet; youâd have trouble getting the wagon through the mouth of the cave, but if you unhitched the mules you think you could fit them in without much difficulty. Alternatively, if you backtracked a little ways, you remember seeing the rotting remains of a shack (seemingly not attached to any particular villages), or if you diverted notably farther and also in a different direction, you could hit up Ravenâs Nest.
Wanderer will mention these options to the group, before taking a meditative stance.
The boat guy looks up at the sky. ââŚYou know, it is getting awfully late. Maybe I could offer you a small discount, for my last trip of the night.â
âSmallâŚâ
Wanderer puts a finger to his chin.
âA crown for the entire group. 5 links for the two mules. Of course, a survivalist like myself who has braved the Worldwound could make do without the shelter of Hazel Ford for a night.â
Wanderer is framing things such that he can get a better deal, but heâs not exactly lying about his circumstances.
âDeal!â says Boat Guy eagerly, holding out a hand for the money.
Drakor shrugged. âI am capable of sleeping out here. I saw some shelter back there that we could use.â
He said this in front of the boat guy, clearly audible. Some dried blood was still visible on the front of his shirt where the morningstar had hit him.
Boat Guy tugs at his hat. âHey, your friend here offered me a deal! Donât try and go back on me now, man!â
Itâs unclear to those there exactly why Wanderer made such a deal as he could have made even more favorable terms.
Heâs pleased with himself regardless, handing the necessary coins over.
It takes a couple trips for him to actually get everyone across, since there are so many of you, but eventually youâve all made it across to the other bank. Boat Guy spends the trips chattering about locations in the city, specifically businesses that he thinks are poor quality.
ââŚand stay away from the Travelerâs Rest inn! Youâd think it was swanky, from how they did up the outside, but inside itâs no better than youâd get at the Copper Dragon. You didnât hear it from me, but I heard they even had a rat problem last monthâŚâ
Despite claiming that he was offering you a discount for his final trip, once heâs dropped you all at the opposite bank, he heads back out again in his boat.
What are some of these that stick out?
"As he left, Drakor lagged behind the rest of the group to approach the boat man, speaking in a low voice as he passed. âMy friend was very generous with you. Remember that.â
With that parting shot, he turned and sped up to catch up with the group.

Besides Travelerâs Rest, he also disapproves of:
- Verdant Vegetables, a greengrocerâs shop: ââŚsold me some corn that was rotten , it was, and when I took it back and demanded a refund, she tried to blame it on me . Had to threaten to get the Church involved, and even then, I didnât get back the full sum. I say, anyone like that should be thrown out of the guilds!âŚâ
- Tashaâs Tailoring, a seamstress/tailor: ââŚand with how long it took her to finish my eldestâs tunic, my daughter could practically have sewn it herselfâŚâ
- The tannerâs shop, which doesnât appear to have any particular sort of name: ââŚMen like that shouldnât be allowed in cities, if you ask me, the smell is awful , and they ruin the water for everyone elseâŚâ
Wanderer will now proceed to cast the Enhanced Diplomacy + Ears of the City setup twice
