“Missing an eye.” He frowned. “My sister didn’t say much else.”

“It’s still… helpful.”

“I…”

She debates putting her word on something like this.

“…Don’t think…”

So, instead, hedges her bets with a ‘maybe’

“I’ve seen anyone like that. Here. But I… didn’t explore much. Or talk to many people.”

“Still, that helps.” Drakor nodded in gratitude. “I asked Rabbit earlier and he said the same thing.”

He sighed. “It’s a large world out there.”

Canary politely nods, then goes silent.

{I’m… exhausted. So much talking. And the day… isn’t even over.}

Drakor, sensing Canary’s fatigue, matched her silence. He knelt down to examine the tracks once more.

(I’m so glad the one time we get a good roll it’s this)

(Yes, you can do that!)

The two of you leave through the palisade’s entrance and head over to the woodlot. Vin immediately gets started cutting a face notch in a tree. Unfortunately, he seems to have forgotten to make sure the tree has a clear path for where to fall, and to make matters even worse, he hasn’t even noticed the broken branch wobbling above his head…

(are your character’s feet on the large side, on the small side, or ~average for a woman her age?)

[Are you going alone or bringing someone else with you? Also, are you looking for giant spiders in the woodlot or the forest? Spiders will be easier to find in the forest, but the forest is also generally more dangerous/has a higher risk of encountering something scary]

The footprints are slightly smaller than yours. Based on the depth of the footprint, it seems like it came from someone who was wearing rather thick soles with rounded toes, but there isn’t an obvious design worked into the soles.

Despite the rain, the twin lines through the dirt left by the dead body’s legs are deep enough to have stuck around. You’re able to follow them back to the spring at the base of Granite Hill, where they leave off.

[You can do that]

When you reach the central square, people are already speaking in hushed tones about the murder. Nyna seems to slightly relax at your arrival, though she’s clearly still a bit overwhelmed. Someone’s baby is crying. Someone else is trying to convince the nearest militia member that there’s no point in everyone staying in the square and they might as well all go back home, or out to the fields.

There’s something on the ground near the spring – not a footprint, it’s much too big to be a footprint, more like an entire-backside-and-rear-print.

Whoever came to the hill last night, they presumably must have gotten here somehow. But between the overnight rain and your inexperience with tracking, it’s hard to find more than traces of footprints, even when you’re sure they must be present (you can’t even find the footprints corresponding to Wanderer and Kaver’s meeting).

She non-verbally nudges the hunter, then moves over to the large print and examines that instead.

Does it look like it would belong to the dead man?

That definitely seems plausible. It’s the right size to match up with his body, and now that you’re thinking about it, there were some traces of mud left on the backside of his outfit (although most of it had washed off by the time the body was discovered).
