“Excuse me. Could I ask you what the man was talking about? Additionally, who did he speak about this to?” Wanderer speaks with an attempted professional tone.
Lionel [Amelia], the alchemist who recently arrived, makes something like potions, and you know Ranta’s character has some knowledge of herbalism (though you don’t think they brew potions themself). Agneta sometimes uses herbs that the witch collected to make healing salves, but as far as you know they aren’t magical; the healing potions in the village are generally purchased from Hazel Ford. You’re reasonably confident that no one else in the village is manufacturing their own potions.
(Does Hazel Ford know how to make any other potions?)
“Let me think…” Drakor said. “Didn’t seem like anything out of the ordinary, though.”
you don’t need to roll for this, you remember that Nyna was on the taller side for an adult woman and Savil was on the shorter side for an adult man
(…so, like, around 5’2" or 5’3" for her, 5’3" for him? but described like that, they sound really short)
(y’know sometimes i forget this is fantasy ancient egypt)
no, no, fantasy ancient Egypt is a completely different Golarion country
“The wife was a little taller? And the servant was somewhat short.”
He frowned. “Why? You think one of them did it?”
“He was acting so impolite about the idea of staying in the stable loft at the tavern, like he thought the very idea was beneath him. I don’t know the name of the man he was talking to, but he was a half-orc, tall, with two swords.”
(I have totally made my character way too tall but I’m sticking with it now.)
“If the murderer did use alchemy… they’re the two people who could plan to do such a thing in advance. Anyone else would have to purchase it, which would leave a massive trail, or know how to… make it themselves.”
“…Hm.”
(Does Wanderer happen to know who this is?)
“If it’s premeditated. One, or both of them. Did it.”
She cups the left side of her face with her hand. “If it’s not… why? And how would they carry the body?”
“…Maybe I’m underestimating the strength of everyone else. I. Tend to do that.”
(It’s a location, not a person, but its potioneers aren’t limited just to healing potions, it’s just that most people aren’t going to purchase something that isn’t for emergencies. You’ve heard of them selling potions of Delay Poison, Touch of the Sea, Endure Elements, and Resist Energy; if you were looking for potions that would increase carrying capacity, you’d expect it to be possible in principle for them to sell a potion of Ant Haul, it’s just that very few people would be willing to actually pay the necessary price.)
Drakor folded his arms. “What about someone from outside the city? Another visitor?”
(It sure sounds like Drakor [Squirrel], one of the people who was with the group that went down to the creek)
(you’ve met him before)
(idk if you’d necessarily remember that in character but we were hanging out for a good few days)
“Why would they kill him? They’d have to know where he is, or overhear him saying something then get really mad.”
He makes a slight bow. “Thank you for your words.”
