“Oh! Thank you!” He smiles at you through his tears. “Are you a dragon?”

It’s hard to tell for certain, but you definitely don’t see anything that contradicts that idea.

“He mentioned it, yeah!” says the younger one. “I dunno much more about it, though.”

The older one taps his chin thoughtfully. “You know, I doubt the guard is going to want to look into it. It’s been boarded up for so long. But maybe you can sort things out?”

The younger one gives him a confused look. “What? No! That’s insane!”

“Where in the room was the now-removed evidence?”

“No tracks in the cellar,” Drakor noted. “Could be the same culprits, though I’d think they couldn’t clean without becoming solid again.”

He frowned as something occurred to him. “Has there been any fey activity recently?”

(Imagine this is replying to Zone)

Drakor sees:

  • a bunch of tracks leading up to the cellar that you saw be created by people in the group
  • a second, less recent set of tracks, pretty much exactly the same size as the tracks that the older guard is leaving, leading up to the cellar and then back away from it

I guess now there are also Rika’s tracks,

“Demon cult activity,” says the older one. “Nasty business. And now breaking and entering, too.”

“Uhm.”

“What a Wonderful World…” I begin to fix the kid’s pants as we walk. “I’m… I don’t draw my power from dragons. Like some other people do. And. I’m fully human.” I grab onto the handcart and begin to push it myself, hoping his former sadness and my… resolution is enough to distract him. “I…” Can’t really tell him I’m not magical. So…

“I…” Shouldn’t explain my story to him, incase he repeats it back to his parents and they dislike my questioning enough to tell the baron.

“…Use a form of magic that comes from… my inheritance. And my inheritance, fate decided.” I frown a bit. “Is a specific type of special to me specifically. As far as I know… not really anyone else in my family can do the things I do.”

The younger one seems genuinely shocked and upset! Somehow, the cultists got into what was supposed to be a secure area, and now that they’ve cleared out all their traces, the Watch is never going to catch up with them!

The older one… seems much less surprised. Not only that, but now that you’re paying close attention to his reactions, he’s clearly hiding something — he’s paying very close attention to how his fellow Watchman perceives him, his eyes keep darting around to track the rest of the room, and there was something very strange about his tone when he suggested that you could go check out the abandoned hospital.

The older watchman starts indicating various parts of the room. “The symbol was painted on that wall, the ashes were in a brazier on the floor there…”

“Can you describe the symbol?” Drakor asked, turning his attention to the watchman.

(studied target → older watchman)

Wanderer will inspect those locations and see if literally anything was left behind.

He’s wondering if the removal was ‘too perfect’ to have been done through mundane means.

(Why… That sounds like a fantastic idea!)

Arius coughs. “My apologies, but… I believe we are… inadequate to investigate the place. Perhaps it would be reassuring to have you join us?” (Join us to our graves, that is.)

“Not more than usual,” says the younger one.

The older one nods.

“Awww. It would be really cool if you were a dragon!”

He starts flapping his arms demonstratively, as if they were wings.
